The best songs in 'Idol' hands
Plenty of "American Idol" favorites have recorded Christmas classics — but which ones are worth the price of a download?
We picked the cream of the crop from the "Idol" heap of holiday tunes.
It should tide you over until the new season of "American Idol" begins in January.
1. Carrie Underwood "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
As if we weren't going to include her on the list. She could sing the phonebook and it would sound heavenly.
2. Kimberly Locke "Last Christmas"
A fun version of the oft-covered hit.
3. Clay Aiken "Mary, Did You Know?"
Love him or hate him, he does this song justice.
4. American Idol Ensemble "O Come, All Ye Faithful"
From the album "American Idol: The Great Holiday Classics" recorded with finalists from the first two seasons. They should do more of these, with champs from more recent seasons.
5. Kelly Clarkson "My Grown Up Christmas List"
This song has been covered way too many times in recent years, but Clarkson brings some soul to it.
6. David Archuleta (featuring Charice Pempengco) "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"
Everyone's favorite Cutebot-5000 turns in some sincere, warm Christmas classics on his new holiday album. We're digging this duet, surprisingly.
7. Brooke White "Away in a Manger"
An iTunes exclusive, Goldilocks' voice is just right for this tune.
8. Kellie Pickler "Santa Baby"
She brings a great sense of fun to this silly holiday song.
