Carrie Underwood 'Abs Are My Trouble Area' | Parade.com

Despite her amazing success, Country star Carrie Underwood says that there's one thing she's still missing: rock-hard abs.

In the latest issue of PARADE's HealthyStyle, the songstress reveals that she's in it for the long haul when it comes to getting her midsection in shape.

"My abs are my trouble area," Underwood tells the magazine. "If I gain weight, it's around my hips and my belly. And if you have on a great dress and it fits everywhere but your belly, that's not good. It may take me the rest of my life, but if I'm 80 and I have abs, I'll be happy!"

But her happiness doesn't lie solely with chiseled stomach muscles. Underwood believes that regular exercise is the key to a happier, more clear-headed Carrie.

My whole day goes better if I can just get a few minutes in," she says. "Even if it's not a full hour, if I can get on a bike or the treadmill for 30 minutes, I think better, I speak better--I'm a happier person. Regular exercise helps me sleep, too.

She has been mentioning that a lot lately about her abs/weight. In this interview, in those video's Carrie Underwood's Guide to & even in her new album booklet...about Trish helping her on her chubby bunny days.
I get that every woman has her own insecurites and days that you dont feel good about yourself but sometimes i get the feeling that it goes further with Carrie in a more negative way, since she mentions it alot. Her abs seem perfectly flat to me. I always tought she was gorgeous btw, even on her so called "chubby' days on American Idol.

To be honest I think most of her comments about that stuff are in the context of being fit and toned. The language she uses is the language of somebody who's got targeted workouts designed to meet specific fitness goals.

I'm not inside anybody's head so I can't say who does and doesn't have insecurities and whatnot. But I don't think the mere fact of discussing stuff like this is in and of itself an indication of insecurities. The way Carrie talks about it is IMO much more the way you hear trainers, athletes, and anybody else who has to pay attention to health & fitness for stamina's sake talks - it's about taking control and making sure you're in the shape you need to be to do what you have to do. IMO that's a lesson she learned early from Kenny because I remember her talking about how he worked out so much to make sure he could put on the show he wanted to.

I agree with her that excercise certainly can clear you mind also, so its good of her to put effort into staying healty and clearminded!

If you look at the cover of any monen's type magazine there is a comment about controlling weight. I think Carrie is just supplying some grist for the mill. Stomack and hips are always the problem, lol.

They go away if you stop eating all together. (But you do get hungry right away)

Carrie has clearly been well informed by whoever put's her program together. I've been involved with serious workout routines since 17 and that is what you are taught, even now that I've got my personal trainer degree in order that is the advice you need to give to everyone.

Creating problems with your physical shape is the key to constant improvement, the day you wake up and feel completely happy with how you look is the day you ease up and lose your work ethic. I'm in the gym 3 hours per day, 6 days a week and I realistically know that I'm in as good of shape as I can get, but you better believe I wake up and tel myself I can still get a little more definition...that is essential to anybody who is serious about it.

Abs? I don't have any problem with my abs. As long as I can see my toes, I'm good.

As far as Carrie, she shouldn't worry, she's fine. She can probably see all of her feet.
