Carrie Underwood’s “Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher” ad has been set as one of the four posters for our Back to School distribution scheduled for August. You can view that ad on our website here. Carrie, a four-time Grammy Award winner and winner of the fourth season of American Idol, is joined by her mother and former teacher Carole Underwood, and sisters Stephanie Shelton and Shanna Means, who are both teachers.

i think in one interview Carrie was talking about some of the stereotypes people have about small town oklahomans, (being backward, country bumpkin etc) and she was saying how frustrating that is and that her mom has a masters degree.

Omggg this whole thing made me sooo happy I just love the Underwood family haha! I don't think I'd ever seen a picture of all of them together?? Or at least not a recent one.
That's so nice of Carrie. Teachers are AWESOME and they have to have so much patience and they do it all for such little pay.

They all have the exact same color hair in that picture which makes them look even more alike.
I didn't realize that either.

Wow to see them all together you can't help but think how proud Stephen must be of his girls(!) This is what makes Carrie so intriging is all the layers she has to her life that go way beyond singing! She has her head on straight and she knows what's really important! Carrie would make a differance even if she couldn't sing a note(!)

Thanks Jeff for posting both articles. I also remember an article written for Parade Magazine about Carrie that mentioned "no country bumpkin". I think it was a picture of Carrie on the cover with a caption that included the words "no country bumpkin".
Also, if you noticed from the first article, Carole earned her Bachelor's degree after the births of two daughters. She earned her Master's degree after Carrie was born. She was one busy and determined woman. What she accomplished was not an easy task.
I'd also like to mention. I have a sister who is a teacher, her husband is a teacher, they have three children, all teachers. Two of the children are married to teachers. The knowledge they impart to others is incredible, and certainly, long lasting.
Again, thanks for posting. I love the photo of the Underwood women.
