Underwood has sold more than 10 million copies of her two albums and won three Grammy Awards.

Given the singer's massive success, Underwood has simply been too busy to focus on any markets other than that of the US.

She has yet to take off seriously in Australia, although she certainly has a strong fan base.

"We're committed to breaking her in Australia,'' said Sony BMG Australia chief Denis Handlin.

"We're working on getting her to Australia for a promo tour as soon as her schedule permits and for a full tour following the promotional visit.''

Underwood, 25, who has been romantically linked to Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford, is no stranger to Australians.

She has spent the past few months on the road with Keith Urban, and also performed Guy Sebastian's song Angels Brought Me Here during the American Idol series finale.

That would be so sweet if she went to Austrailia, I would LOVE to go there and tour it!! I hope at some point she will be able to make over there!!! Thanks for posting!!

Thank you for the article, Davilas. I sure hope that Carrie will be able to do some promotion tour in Australia. Maybe Carrie can sing together with Olivia Newton John and Keith Urban or something

I would love to see Sydney and Christ Church ,New Zealand again. I was there many years ago while in the Navy and the people were the most hospitable I met in all of my travels around the world. Of course the lack of a language barrier certainly helped. I can only imagine all the changes.
I hope Carrie gets to go.

Unfortunately, I doubt she'll have time to make an extensive trip down there until at least the beginning of 2009...

I agree that it would have to be in 2009 at this point since she tours the rest of this year. I would think that an Aussie tour could happen during our cold months.
