TOMS RIVER — Carrie Underwood and Daughtry will be the headliner acts at the Toms River Fest, which, after a year's absence, returns in August to the campus of Toms River High School North.

The event is being produced by Concerts East in partnership with AEG Live.

AEG Live is also the sponsor of Raven-Symone's Pajama Party Tour, which was to have been performed May 15 at the Ritacco Center.

Tickets will be on sale starting Saturday (May 10). Part of the ticket price from the
event will go toward the school district's technology fund.

Toms River Fest Returns on August 2-3

We are happy to share with you the exciting news that Toms River Fest will be returning this summer! The two-day music and community festival will take place on Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd on the campus of Toms River High School North.

Toms River Fest will once again directly benefit the students of the Toms River Regional Schools. This year, the festival will specifically benefit the Toms River Schools Technology Foundation. A $2 charity fee will be added to the price of each ticket for this fund.

The Foundation has been in existence since the mid-90s and has raised over $600,000 to help upgrade and buy technology for our children. Just this past year, the Foundation provided $400,000 to purchase over 600 computers, printers, and supplies.

The Toms River Regional Schools has partnered with Concerts East and AEG Live to bring national headline music talent and family-oriented activities to Toms River for a third year.

Carrie Underwood will headline Saturday’s schedule with Lifehouse, Push Play, The Lost Trailers, and Mr. Ray also performing. On Sunday, Daughtry will headline and Avril Lavigne, Live, and Collective Soul will also perform. In addition to concerts, patrons will enjoy carnival and musical attractions for children, a food court, BMX bike demonstrations, a video arcade, and numerous community-oriented exhibits and displays.

Tickets, priced at $35 for general admission, $50 for bleachers, and $75 for VIP seating packages, go on sale Saturday, May 10th at 10 a.m. through Tickets for Concerts, Sports, Arts, Theater, Family, Events, more. Official Ticketmaster site, Toms River Festival 2008, Ticketmaster Phone Charge at (201) 507-8900 and (609) 520-8383, and the Ritacco Center Box Office located at 1144 Hooper Avenue. A limited two-day general admission pass will also be available for $60.

I wish I could go because ,well obviously it is Carrie, but I lived in Toms River for nearly 15 years some time ago. Would love to go visit. The Jersey Shore is awesome in the summer. I was a bartender right on the beach boardwalk for a number of years. Great times and memories.
