    Simon mentions Carrie on XFactor

In a clip of what's coming next, Simon mentions Carrie and the prediction he made when she sang Alone. Tune to Fox to catch it.

I saw it! Cheered me up! So cool Simon mentioned Carrie! They don't do too many CU songs on XFactor oddly. Very cool ! And the little girl was so sweet with the blonde curly hair like Carrie.

i do love the Carrie mention, but to be honest its kinda silly also. The chances of this young girl, however good she was, to get a record deal and sell millions of records down the road, are about as much as someone getting hit by lightening twice in a day.

I got the feeling that Simon was looking at a much bigger picture for this girl. Her enthusiasm, optimistic outlook and joy of life may serve to inspire others even if her singing career doesn't materialize to be as grand as she hoped.

I think the problems between the Simons may be cooling down, or, Simon Cowell who I believe has always been quite proprietary about the fact that he was the one who 'discovered' the now superstar Carrie Underwood back in 2005. He has always been very proud of that fact, and acknowledges it every chance he gets. Discovering Carrie will always make up a big part of his credentials.

I respected Simon on Idol, but to me, now he's just coming across as egotistical and annoying when he mentions how he 'discovered' Carrie. Yes, he supported her, and saw something special in her, but there were also also judges at that table, too. Also, the way he talks about 'discovering' Carrie, you'd think he believes she owes him credit for building her career or something. Ridiculous.

Carrie is an amazing talent, and she would have gone somewhere with or without Mr. Simon Cowell. He's just trying to prop himself up, but at the end of the day only Carrie owns her success.

Man was it really 8 years ago that Carrie was found literally plucked from obscurity. Simon can say what he wants about the discovery because it was Carrie that picked up the ball and sprinted.
At the end of the day I get to say I was at her concerts and that I followed daily the evolution of a once in a lifetime star.

No award snub can ever fade her impact on me or countless others.

Interesting. I've never heard Simon say he "discovered" Carrie. Last night he said, "The first time I met Carrie Underwood I predicted........................" Rion did a great job with BA. Hope Simon's prediction about her are as accurate as his Carrie prediction but, while she is obviously a very talented and determined young lady, it is a rare individual who possesses Carrie's humongous vocal talent, organizational ability, determination, beautiful looks, beautiful soul, and the will to never compromise her integrity and principles. Good luck to Rion on the Xfactor and in her future endeavors.

Well actually since Simon was talking about when he first met Carrie, it is actually more than 9 years as Carrie auditioned for Idol in August 2004.

Thanks for the correction of 9 vs 8 years and meeting vs discovery; but really that was the only takeaway of my comment?

That's exactly how I took it. Simon didn't say that he expected to see her in the finals or that he expected her to win the competition and become the best selling X-factor winner so far. He said that she would go on to do special things in her life I believe that he truly meant that about Rion.

I actually didn't find her voice as incredible as everyone else...she is good, but not amazing in my opinion. She is a remarkable girl and I am glad she went through because her singing was nice enough.
