Idol Contestant Sings IKYW for Wild Card Spot

I missed when he sang part of IKYW in the audition rounds, but Jeremy Rosado sang it in the Sing For Your Life Wild Card round last night. Very interesting to hear a guy performing this and I think he did really well. Sorry if this has been posted, please delete it mods if it has.

I really like this guy but I have to agree with you...he didn't finish the notes and to me the end of the notes sounded a bit off key all he showed was that he could hold the last note but only when he cut short the notes preceding it and I like vibrato and he has none when he stretches the note out...nevertheless I like him as a person but I'm going to pull a Simon and say that he will be eliminated early in the rounds'

I actually really like him. I like his song choices and I like his voice.
Problem: HE does not have the voice for Carrie songs. So he should be reallly careful about that.
But the emotional commitment is aways there and I really like that.
WTS, I think IKYW would be a great moment for someone on the show. The band arrangement that they use is actually effective enough that if it were the right vocalist they could have a real moment.
But I do believe it would have to be someone like Hollie who would really carry those big notes. Otherwise, it does not have the impact.
I love Clarkson but even she did not have the power to really carry those phrases all the way through. I think Hollie might!
That would be exciting.
See, I don't hate everyone except Carrie. I am just waiting for someone to meet Carries level.
And thats not gonna be just anyone!

I actually think it might be better to be sung by a guy. The comparisons are less, and it gives the song a different feel. I think with practice he might be able to do the song justice....not at Carrie's level, but justice. The girl who might be able to tackle it might be Erika, she has a strong solid voice. It will be interesting to find out how they manage difficult songs from here on out.

Well said pk... I am so excited about so many contestants trying to emulate Carrie and her music. I love it every time I hear her name spoken by a contestant because winning means so much to them. I also have to say, it will be very very difficult, if not impossible, for any AI winner or contestant to reach Carrie's success. There is just no other.

JEN HIRSH WILL BE MORE POPULAR THEN ANYONE IN THE TOP 13....This show lacks true judging anymore that's why the ratings are tanking...
The Kid who sang this song is a super nice kid.... That's why he got through not because of singing this CARRIE CLASSIC......

I thought he pulled this song off very well. Better than most. But i did not want him in the top. I wanted Reed and Jennifer. Of course they disr make it though. But i cant complain. Joshua made the top. Lol

Hmm! It's interesting hear others cover Carrie's songs. They try, and I applaud their effort, but you can't com peat with Carrie's powerful voice.
