Now he's attacking Carrie fans. Lol. Way to make sure you'll never be invited to any more Idol reunions, buddy. It's fine if he doesn't like Carrie's music, but he didn't have to be so rude A) in his original comment, and B) in his reactions to Carrie fans defending her. Maybe next time he should think before he tweets.![]()
he is a jerk..I dont like him!

Maybe to him he didn't think that he did anything rude and what the fans take as insulting isn't insulting to him.
The whole music line is stupid and doesn't make sense with the way that he used it but it's his opinion and frankly I don't really give a crap what Elliott Yamin has to say.

And he probably got a silver dog tag from Carrie.

Who is Elliot Yamin again, guys? Lol. Sorry, I'm too lazy to google him lol.

Did we hear this yr if she carried through w/ that tradition of given a momento to the top ten/eleven? I wonder since I never heard anyone comment.
Why it matters is the second part of his remark. As people have said, it's of no consequence whether he likes Carrie a lot, a little, or (as he says) not at all. Opinions on that are always going to vary. What matters though is that he was implying that Carrie is not a real Country artist. That deserves to be challenged for two reasons. Firstly, it's blatantly unffair to an artist who's appeared around thirty times in a relatively short period at the Grand Ole Opry (considerably more than any other recent headline chart artist, when she certainly didn't have to) - and one who has faithfully and creditably perforned several different styles of Country Music, when again she was under no obligation to.
The second reason why it matters (at least to me, as a Country Music fan) is that it demeans and limits the whole genre to imply that it can only be "real" if it's one thing. Country Music is a vast field, with a host of different sub-genres. Some of them are lovingly preserved, others are fiercely avant garde - they're all valid. Lady Antebellum are not going to sound much like the Reverend Horton Heat, but Country Music is broad enough to take in them all.
I don't claim to know anything relevant about Pop or R & B (this guy's fields, according to Wikipedia), so I don't presume to pronounce on them. I'm not going to over-stress his very brief comment in a one line tweet - and it probably came across as more crass than he intended. But he has touched on an important misconception that damages the way our genre is received and evaluated.

During his season i always had a place for him because of his story of his mom, etc. I also enjoyed his one and only hit "wait for you". But i just lost all respect for him now. Its one thing to make ONE comment. But he just keeps going. Not smart.
Did he remove his twitter account? I couldn't find it when I searched.
