Elliott came in 3rd during one AI season. It might have been the year Taylor Hicks won, not sure.
I remember he sang the song "Home" that Blake Shelton and Michael Buble sing. I love Elliott's version, but I no longer respect him. He surely did make a huge blunder. I'm surprised by his insensitivity. One thing is certain, Carrie hasn't lost anything by his uncalled for comments.

There's no issue at saying he doesn't like Carrie's music but the way he answered made him a complete fool. I liked him and I thought he was a nice guy. I remember his mom in the audience calling him to sing with Mary J Blige.

Looking at the good side at least my B-list has a man right now. There were only women such as Crash&Burn, Leann Rimes, Wynonna and now I have Elliot.

OMG. This is really uncalled for on his part. A simple "I'm not a big fan of her music" or a simple "no" would have sufficed and there would not be all this drama. He went way out of his way just to call her a fake artist...in his own words which he basicly did. Then to reply and say "She's a great singer, but I'm just nota big fan of hers" sounds kind of contradictory and almost says that he doesn't respect her as a person? Now he's trying to say he bashed noone. Something is wrong with him. I think maybe he mistyped, but because of that little mistake he now has a riot on his hands. I think the way he can make it right is to apologize, but the problem is he's not even doing that. He can admit he mistyped and didn't mean to bash anyone but doesn't like her music is what he meant. But if he continues to make a scene and not apologize I'm going to have to be inclined that he truly meant to bash her.and To call it "entertaining" that we're upset is completely....idk what to call it. Jack assy. LOL I truly was never a fan of him, but would I go online and bash him to kingdom come? No. I just say don't care for the music. Example, I'm not a big fan of Taylor Swifts music, but she seems like a real nice girl. I like her as a person. What Elliot said disrespected Carrie not only as an artist but as a person, which is very uncool. lol....You guys realize i could write a novel right now full of rants? hehe. Anyways I think I proved my point. Shame on You Elliot. Lets see how you like it! Your unsuccessful which means your music is garbage and your damn right ugly. You'd work great for a garbage pick up service.

I think this is why Carrie doesn't have twitter - she says she sometimes says things without thinking and would hate to say something she couldn't take back. I think Elliott learned 2 valuable lessons:
1. Don't mess with Carrie fans.
2. Be careful what you tweet!

I think this is another example of somebody not thinking about the fact that everything they say on Twitter is public. His original tweet was probably just an off the cuff response to something somebody asked him, and honestly he should have been a little more diplomatic but it wasn't that bad. He got into trouble by getting defensive and catty in his responses to the criticism. It's really much ado about nothing. I doubt Carrie or her team knows or cares about his opinion. (He could take a lesson from Carrie on being careful with what you say. I've honestly never heard her say a negative word about anybody in the industry.)

I would be ok even with his "no, not at all....". I have friends who dislikes Carrie's music and it's ok for me.
But the way he continued with "... but I like real country singers/artists/songs" that was really bad.

ETA: He doesn't have to like Carrie. I couldn't give 2 sh!ts what he thinks of Carrie, since he's really unimportant, to music and to my life. But, I mean, how can you call Lady Antebellum real country and Carrie not? Carrie's got more country songs than Lady A has... Clearly, he hasn't heard enough from either artist to pass such a judgment. And you gotta be careful when you pass judgment on something you don't know enough about.

Anyway, don't tweet him. He might start thinking he's important and that his opinion matters lol.

Angie Harmon tweeted recently, regarding whether she's a Carrie fan, "who isn't?" We've found someone! Tear him apart, Angie. ;D

Sadly this is probably the greatest moment of his career.... If he says Carries great he gets no reaction and most people still wouldn't know who he is... At least now people are paying attention to him again... Personally I don't care what he says about anything.....

I don't see why it matters so much what Elliott Yamin says. There are lots of people who tweet that they don't like Carrie or her music.

Yeah he could have said I'm not a big fan of her music, but he insinuated that she doesn't make "real" music. It's one of the nastier things you can say of any artist.
