Well, we've only got about a week until the CMA nominations are announced! What do you think the ballot will look like for Entertainer, Female, Male, Single and Song?! Here's what I'm thinking...

4. Keith Urban
5. Luke Bryan
FVOTY
1. Carrie Underwood

since it has pretty much determined and aruged to death that we have absolutely no way of knowing just what criteria the CMA uses to determine their nominees. I don't even know how to begin to guess who would be nominated.
My only real solid guesses just based on what I have learned in the last 8 years.
Blake - alot
Miranda - alot
Luke - Alot
everybody else - filler based on popularity and God knows what..........
Oh and Florida Georgia Line - dark horse.
EOTY-Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood FVOTY-Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves, Kelly Clarkson MVOTY-Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes Song-Blown Away, Mama's Broken Heart, I Drive Your Truck, Merry Go Round, Highway Don't Care Single-Wagon Wheel, Crash My Party, Boys Round Here, Cruise, Highway Don't Care NAOTY-Kacey Musgraves, Florida Georgia Line, Kip Moore, Brett Eldridge, Brantley Gilbert DOTY-Florida-Georgia Line, Thomson Square, Love & Theft, Big & Rich, Sugarland GOTY- Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Eli Young Band, The Band Perry AOTY- Kacey Musgraves, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton, Florida-Georgia Line, Jason Aldean
I couldn't begin to guess as I have been totally shocked the past few years, although one single that as far as I know hasn't even made it to the top ten doesn't say FVOTY to me and I'm a big fan of the pop person.
How has become the standard already to include Kelly Clarkson as a potencial nominee for FVOTY?
What about Lady Gaga And Niki M.
Entertainer of the Year
Luke Bryan
Blake Shelton
Kenny Chesney
Tim McGraw
Jason Aldean
--As I've said before, I'm solely leaving Carrie out because I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm only including Carrie in categories I'm thoroughly confident she'll receive nominations in.

...because she's actually released music to Country? I don't see what's so crazy about it this year. She has "Don't Rush" and "Tie it Up" under her belt this go around. Last year was an oddball nomination; this year would make total sense. Let's not act as if she has as much room being there as Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj.
Why do people think Tim McGraw will be in EOTY, I'm not against it I just don't see it happening?
^ so you predict Carrie will get 1 nomination only- Female Vocalist- yet again? ( sad). I tend to agree- but I pray I am wrong.
+
I mentioned Lady Gaga cause Lady Gaga released a country version of her music, as rediculous as that is, it is no more rediculous than Kelly Clarkson doing the same thing.
I drug Niki in to prove a point.
Why would pop singer (weather or not they "threw a country song out there") be nominated for the best vocalist of the year at the biggest country music event of the year.
Sorry, its just pathetic to me....
Gary Allan isn't eligible. You can only be eligible for NA if you have only released two albums. Gary has had an active career since 1996. He could be a dark horse contender for MV though.
If they nominated Sugarland again for Duo this year, something is seriously wrong. They have done nothing as a group this year. Absolutely nothing.
Thank you for the bolded part.
I like your predictions for the awards. I think Hunter might have a shot at MV this year as well. I totally forgot about Lennon and Maisy. They likely could sneak into the duo category...didn't their cover of Hey Ho go to country radio?
I see a few people at Pulse included Downtown in their predictions as well for Song or Single. I didn't think it was that big of a hit in comparison to many others, but people could be onto something. The voters do seem to love Lady A.
Entertainer:
Taylor Swift
Kenny Chesney
Blake Shelton
Luke Bryan
Jason Aldean
Female:
Carrie
Miranda Lambert
Kacey Musgraves
Taylor Swift
Jana Kramer
Male:
Jason Aldean
Luke Bryan
Blake Shelton
Chris Young
Hunter Hayes
*I could see Tim McGraw possibly sneaking in there as a filler nomination, considering he's now signed with BM and has done pretty well with the past few singles, though*
Single:
Blown Away
Cruise
Highway Don't Care
Mama's Broken Heart
Wanted
Wagon Wheel
Song:
Blown Away
Highway Don't Care
Wanted
Cruise
Better Dig Two
Album:
Blown Away

Love And Theft
FGL
Group:
Little Big Town
Rascal Flatts
Lady A
Eli Young Band
Zach Brown Band
I think the group category will be one of the strongest this year, but they need to combine duo/group already. Between the success of duos/groups in country music now, there's no reason they cannot combine the two and make a strong category. It would also eliminate filer like Sugarland and TCW.
The single/song categories always end up being pretty weak, and there always seems to be something that causes a major outcry. There are several strong contenders for male vocalist, and the ETOY category should be strong, too. It's a shame that the female vocalist will likely have a filler name or two, but there are some strong contenders among the bunch.
I'm hoping for a few nominations for Carrie, and a good night of hosting. I have no expectations, but any wins/nominations from Carrie, or a win/nomination from a "dark horse" would be great, in my book.
In my dream world, FGL would win nothing and totally disappear, the filer would disappear from FOTY, Taylor Swift would no longer be nominated, and Carrie would sweep.
But since the CMA voters are a little loopy, I'll settle for a few nominations (and a win), for Carrie, no wins for Swift for FGL, a few great performances (with Carrie stealing the show, of course), and a great night of hosting from Carrie and Brad.
I don't see Tim getting Eoty either. Big Machine will Never sacrifice their precious Taylor to help Tim or anyone else on their label who isn't named Taylor Swift. Good luck with that poor Tim.
Ok I previously posted predictions in another thread but I will post my updated ones here. Please note that many of my picks are not what I want to happen- but what likely will happen.
Entertainer:
Luke Bryan
Jason Aldean
Taylor ( her label gets her in every year like clockwork even with no tour)
Blake Shelton
others will duke out last slot:
*George Strait- dark horse sentimental slot as last tour ever
*Carrie-- deserves this slot but likely to be snubbed again
*Miranda- she could steal Carrie's slot again sadly due to voter obsession
Male Vocalist:
Blake
Luke
Jason
Brad
Hunter Hayes
*Tim could sneak in here due to strong singles this year. Keith's cd is coming out to late so he may be left out.
Female Vocalist:
Carrie
Miranda
Taylor
Kasey
*Kelly Clarkson
* I love Kelly as a pop artist- but this last slot irks me to no end as it belongs to Kellie Pickler not a pop star. But Martina and the others did nothing this year and Kellie gets no love at award shows. With Narvel and BlAke lobbying for Kelly- she will continue to get nominations she hasn't earned.
Vocal Group:
Lady A
Band Perry
Little Big Town
Zac Brown Band
*Rascal Flatts
* Rascal Flatts earned this slot due to a good album and successful tour- but will be snubbed for some lame unknown group like Eli Young Band. Not sure why voters hate the Flatts so much.
Vocal Duo:
Thompson Square
Civil Wars
Florida Grorgia Line
Love and Theft
Album:
Kasey Musgraves
Lady Antebellum
Zac Brown Band
Little Big Town
other:
*Brad Paisely- Wheelhouse
*Band Perry
*Carrie-Blown Away
These 3 will duke it out for the last slot. the Cmas did nominate PO so carrie has a chance- but the general snubbery tells me no wAy. Carrie had the most successful album of anyone on this list and got good reviews- but all of you seem to think she will be snubbed- do she likely will sadly.
Not sure why so many are picking Blake's cd? It is pretty mediocre.
New Artist:
Kasey Musgraves
Florida Georgia Line
Brett Eldridge
Single of Year:
Cruise
Mamas Broken Heart
Wagon Wheel
I Want Crazy- Hunter
*Blown Away
*Highway Don't Care
* blake did not submit Boys Round Here in this category so that knocks him out if the running. Blown Away has a real **** at a nom here but I am nervous to predict it.
Song:
Wagon Wheel
Mamas Broken Heart
Highway Dont Care
Like Jesus Does
Better Dig Two- Band Perry
Video:
Wagon Wheel
Mamas Broken Heart - lame video but strong song & its Miranda so no brainer
Better Dig Two
HighwY Don't Care
Blown Away
* taking a big risk here as Cmas have not nominated a Carrie video since BHC. Lmao
Vocal Collab:
Boys Round Here
Wagon Wheel
HighwAy Dont Care
Guys- Blake did not submit Boys Round Here for any category but Musical Event. He submitted that lame New song of his instead. Boys had a much better chance to win. ODd.
^ Luke's album is not eligible. It was released a few weeks ago.
Tim is on the same label as Taylor- so good luck getting an Eoty nom over her. Lmao. I am just curious why every person included Blake's mediocre album but not Brads really strong album?
*IM GOING TO PRETEND THAT THE CMA VOTERS ARE FAIR*
