I have a feeling Taylor is going to win something this year. She got 5 nominations and Carrie only got 4. She has never won before so this could be the year.
What is sad is that she is still being nominated for Country awards when she is clearly pop now--- her new album is dubstep and pop through and through. She is stealing nominations from deserving country stars. So unfair.

The Toby thing is weird. Perhaps the people that run this show really like Toby and want to give him some attention given that he doesn't get much award love from the CMAs or ACMs. That's the only reason I can think for them to include him and leave off the others. The only thing of note that Toby has done this year is Red Solo Cup lol.

What's really weird is Red Solo Cup being nominated?? The song is a joke.
Supposedly the songs were picked by the Nashville Songwriters Association International's Professional
Songwriting Division.I just find that hard to believe.

I found it hard to believe at first as well, particularly pertaining to Red Solo Cup. However, if you really think about it, of course lots of songwriters wish they had written that stupid song. It would have made them a little bit richer if they had lol. That song was super popular.

ha ha The Swiftys probably don't even know who any of the country singers on the ballot are except Taylor- and Carrie- since Carrie is her biggest threat. lol

He was their artist of the decade last year. They don't seem to pick nominees for that award. The people that run the show just pick someone.

But they are not deserved. Anyone can be on a country label. That doesn't make them country.

^^ It's up to the label whether they sign someone as country and of course Scott Borchetta with the $$ signs in his eyes is reaching out into lots of genres because Taylor wants to dominate music and sprinkle her ditty tunes over the entire musical spectrum. How lucky ducky can music in this decade be? She may have gotten country noms for her last Speak Now era but I really doubt if her country celebrity will continue next year - she has reached a point with this album that country radio and country fans didn't like, so I'm thinking some of that disfavor might find it's way into the awards world. I'm glad she released "Never" to country as it may have opened some eyes as to her disinterest in country music. She's not a country artist at heart.

Thought so! I was just trying to figure out why the ACAs like Toby so much. Maybe it's just because he's always shut out of the CMAs and ACMs.

wanted was released as a single in March 2012, and pontoon was released on April 30th, which i think is the cut off date, BA wasn't released as a single until July so i am guessing that it missed the cut off date.
