I don't have a twitter account so maybe I'm wrong, but if a person isn't following someone they don't see the tweets unless they do a search on themselves? Carrie isn't following Kelly so that could be a very good reason why Carrie hasn't responded to the tweet. The other thing, Kelly sent the tweet very early in the morning and I'd be willing to bet that Carrie was still asleep after her concert the night before. And given the volume of tweets that Carrie gets the tweet could've gotten buried.

I only bring this stuff up, because I'd hate for us to draw conclusions about why Carrie hasn't responded when there are very good reasons why she hasn't.

You don't have to be following someone to see tweets that are sent to you.

Carrie may or may not have seen it and if she did, I don't see why she would need to respond to it anyway.

I'm actually surprised by the reaction to Kelly's cover here. Y'all probably know by now I'm not really a Kelly fan, but I loved this. I thought she put a lot of emotion into it, and I LOVED the arrangement. I actually didn't care for her IKYW cover, ironically. As has been posted before, Kelly plans to earn her CMA nomination, which means she will be putting out original country songs very very soon.

TO clarify my comment a few pages ago. I am not concerned with the country chart but I am concerned with any chart that Kelly has had a place in. If that radio format listens to the Kelly version then the Carrie version may be affected negatively.

You mean if Kelly's version of BA charts on Pop/AC or something? How is that possible? Unless .... she has a secretly recorded version she shipped out to radio which no one has heard yet.

I finally had a chance to watch the video of Kelly performing BA. Based on many of the comments here, I was expecting it to be horrible lol. It wasn't, IMO. Kelly changed it up, and did it her own way. The beautiful thing of covers is that they don't have to be exact copies. I think Kelly's lower register sounds really nice here. In a way, her version kind of reminds of Lori McKenna. Very subdued, yet still dark. I think it needs to be taken into account that Kelly doesn't have very long to rehearse these fan requests, so her band wouldn't have had time to get together a big flashy version of the song. Many of Kelly's fan requests have come in a somewhat stripped down format to make it easier for the band. I have no doubt that Kelly would have done a lovely job with a bigger version of BA because she does have an amazing voice, but I do really enjoy that she changed it up.
I personally would think people here would be more offended if she had tried to do an exact copy of Carrie's with the big production and all.
I think we should all be thrilled that Kelly called BA her favorite Carrie song .

I don't think a live concert cover by another artist is likely to affect either Carrie's radio play, or her chart position.

I could only see that happening if
a) lots of people actually preferred the Clarkson interpretation, hadn't heard Carrie's yet, and were disappointed when they did hear it; or
b) lots of people hated the Clarkson version, and this put them off the song in general.

I don't see either of those as likely - especially as radio is not likely to play a random concert cover in preference to a song that's already being promoted by a major label.
(If Clarkson ever does record her version of the song for a future release, Carrie wil have moved on to another single by then)

To me, as long as Kelly Gives Credit that "Blown Away" is a Carrie Underwood's song (which she did), it's fine with me. I am not concern about somebody else sings it because I am confident that Carrie's version is the BEST and the ORIGINAL VERSION. To me, it is an honor for Carrie -- this is like the song "YESTERDAY" : other people has sung this song so many times, but people know also that "Yesterday" belongs to the BEATLES in this case Paul McCartney).

My latest comment was that if you are a pop fan (a kelly chart) and you hear kelly sing this song on youtube because you are a kelly fan you will not likely request the carrie version on that chart. If kelly did a good job on the song it would be worse, .
