I thought I'd create a thread just for discussing Carrie and Brads Hosting of the 2012 CMAs. What topics/people would you like to see them lampoon? Post the promos and other videos, news stories etc. And of course comment after the show. Please keep it to their roles as hosts, no nomination discussions, etc.

So what & who are good targets this year?

I don't think there will be any thing about Randy. It is too serious.
Aldean is a good target though.

I hope they don't touch the Aldean thing, if for no other reason out of respect for the family. I would hope that even if JA didn't have respect for them that Carrie and Brad would. They didn't do anything about LR did they?????

I thought his excuse was lame so that is why I thought he would be a target.

Well sorry, as lame as his excuse was, and it was totally lame, I don't think that's excuse enough to make fun of the situation. Especially since there are children involved.

They could continue the Brad/Mike bromance - have Carrie in her house calling for Mike to clean out the garage and Kimberly calling for Brad to watch the kids - pan to Mike and Brad gone fishing or you could have Kim and Carrie talking on the phone and saying yeah it will be great for Mike to have a relaxing dinner with you guys, he's been cleaning out the garage all day and Kim says yeah Brad took the kids shopping for new clothes - pan to a riverbank where Mike and Brad are fishing and
Brad's kids are sliding in the mud - Brad " Don't get your new clothes dirty"

i disagree swsrn has enough fame and fortune as it is, and, swsrn is just going to get more popular, and besides she is not country not with that horrrible lead single, and the title track from the album Red anyways.

I sincerely hope that they don't bring up the Jason scandal. So is the Randy one. Maybe Keith dealing with those divas on American Idol? I'm sure Taylor will get made fun of about her newest boyfriend, lol. What else??

I agree that they should avoid the Jason and Randy situations. This whole thing with Jason is way too current to not feel icky if they were to bring it up. It would end up looking bad on Carrie, Brad and the CMAs if they mentioned it. Sadly, I think they might bring up Randy in some way because he has been in the news numerous times this year. I just hope it is a general reference and that they don't mention him by name.
I think Taylor is fair game. They always find a way to bring up Tim and Faith, so I think we can expect something for them as well. Keith and AI might be a good one given Carrie's history with the show. Perhaps they could tie in something about Keith's stint on AI with Blake's role on The Voice.
We also might get some general pop culture stuff as well similar to the Kardashian joke from last year.

I look forward to Brad and Carrie paying tribute to the legends that left us (Kitty Wells, Andy Williams, Earl Scruggs, etc - and Andy Griffith).

Personally, I would also like them to acknowledge Kellie standing by her cancer-stricken friend, even shaving her own head for her friend.

I know they won’t touch Randy Travis, that is a tragedy and there’s no humor in it. I don’t think they should, I can’t believe they will bring up Jason either. It’s too soon, if ever; it’s not funny and any joke would hurt his wife and kids.

Off the top of my head I have a few ideas. The Kiss, I can just see Little Jimmy Dickens walk out on stage hold up a sign. Do a bit on Carrie enjoying her hubby because of the lockout. There’s a song in the replacement ref mess. Pontoon is begging for a parody. Keith Urban as AI judge. George Strait retiring from touring…The Cowboy Rides Away. TS and her boy friends are always good fodder, especially with her dating a Kennedy. They might do something with Kelly; it’d have to be really clever to avoid the touchy issue of her nomination. Kristen Stewart? Then there’s always Blake – his kissing the guy from AI; the photo with his head on some babes body or the tweet about he so famous Carrie legs talk to him.

I agree about Randy. I don't see them doing anything with regards to him and I sure hope they don't. I was thinking too about Little Jimmy Dickens with a sign wanting a kiss too. They seem to always include him in something. Tim and Faith seem to be good sports about being the targets of their jokes so that is always a possibility too.

I'm sure there won't be anything political, but I do hope they make some election references. I don't think they did back in 2008.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Blake reference the LR thing at the ACM's. Carrie and Brad managed to avoid that topic.
