Wheel Of the World is one of my all time favorite songs of Carrie's. It's also one of her favorite songs, too. It is not dreadful at all. No, I wouldn't vote for it to be a single. It's not "single" material. Not everyone would want to jam out to it. But it holds a very special place in my heart. Love it.

Dreadful is the last word I would use to describe Wheel of the World. Carrie's vocals are untouchable. I did a poem ten minutes before it was due for bio and used that song as my main inspiration, and not only did I get an A+, but I got called into the office because they thought I plagiarized it from some poet. x) I was like, "Nope! Inspired by Carrie Underwood, but nothing else!" Ah, great memories. It was my favorite song ever at that point. Maybe the concept of the lyrics has been done before, but the lyrics themselves demand an imagination. I love that.

It's also the song that best shows that Carrie was more than just a technical singer. She could've just belted everything, but she chose interpretation. There are so many switches, some light vibratos meticulously selected, intricate harmonies.

But anyway, I honestly don't understand your dislike for WOTW and Forever Changed (it's absolutely beyond my comprehension, actually), but hey, different opinions are what make forums interesting.
