hi, everyone. i know there was a chance of OW being on "play on" but it wasn't. is there a chance of it being on "blown away"? has carrie ever mentioned it or anything? and is there anyone who can ask her if it'd be on the record?
i'm so just in love with it, and i think it's a massive track to just waste and not release.
thanks for any help![]()
I'm sad to hear that Oklahoma Wind won't appear on an album. It's a beautiful song.
what a shameit's so ridiculous of her not to release it even if it leaked.
songs leak all the time. come on, carrie.
NOT happy![]()
Really?! I respect Carrie's wishes of course, but why should it being leaked be the ultimate deciding factor?? CC leaked, and it was still the 1st single and a track on PO. I mean I know that's taking it to the extreme, but still...ahhh I LOVE OW!!!!! I hope Carrie has a change of heart.
AGREED! is there anyway we can get the point across to her? or that we can get our opinion to her?
I don't think it's just Carrie's wishes. If I am the record label, I'm not going to put out a song that's been out there for over a year and expect to get high sales for it so I would of course choose another song because there's always lots to choose from.
But as the label I would also keep it in mind as a bonus track on Carrie's eventual Greatest Hits album.![]()
I should think that the decision not to release it is intended to send a strong message to people in the studios and publishing houses not to give away early versions of songs under consideration. If you say "never", rather than "not this time", you make the message more forceful, and signal it as a definite policy. However, it need not reflect any hostility towards the song as such. It could still appear as a concert song, or be issued one day on a compilation album of career "rarities". I also see no harm in fans continuing to ask for it - I think it can be healthy for artists and their teams to pick up signals about what sort of songs appeal to sections of their fan base.
^^I do understand that by not including Oklahoma Wind, Carrie and her team are sending an important message to publishing companies. However, I still hope that one day, this beautiful song will included in one of her future albums, even as a bonus track. I think Carrie knows that a lot of her fans love this song.![]()
Maybe Carrie wanted to have just ONE album in her career where things went according what her and her team had planned out and didn't get spoiled by leaks. And while we may not agree with some of the decisions(and in particular, this decision), it isn't our career. It's Carrie's career and thus far I'd say that the decisions she and her team have made have lead to a pretty remarkable one by anyone's standards.
I think its sorta clear from comments that Carrie has made about this upcoming album, seeing the album artwork and the Good Girl single, that perhaps OW didn't fit at all with the rest of the songs on the album -- the tone of the overall album. In addition, Carrie wanted to send a message, 'don't mess with me by leaking my stuff'!!!! And I don't buy the argument that leaks build interest and excitement for the album. Judging by the fun and excitement that was generated by the way the album artwork was released just shows to me that major excitement and interest can be generated just as much (and if not more) WITHOUT leaks. I mean there were TONS of tweets, messages on facebook and pages and pages of messages on the fanclub message board -- even Carrie was there right along with us! I'm SO GLAD that that experience wasn't spoiled for Carrie and us by leaks!!!
I have no problem with the decision Carrie has made about the song because I have envisioned in my own mind that we'll be seeing and hearing the song someday on a 'best of the rest' type album or like has already been mentioned, a cut on a greatest hits album.
maybe the album title came from that lyric in OW, "every time i think he's here to stay, he blows away again"
haha i kid of course....![]()
