Jeez, no need to attack people who might not be in love with the short clip yet. After all, it is just a 30-second clip. Everyone is bound to form different opinions based on the short clip since we never heard the full song yet.

The preview clip does SEEM to point towards a Cowboy Casanova type of theme (depends on how you view it). If you love it or ok with it, great. But that doesn't mean no one can't be less enthusiastic BASED ON THE CLIP alone.

I do understand the people who are comparing it to CC...the whole "It's just a matter of time, before you find, He's no good girl, no good for you" line is similar to the "he'll break your heart, it's just a matter of time" from Cowboy Casanova. Perhaps that is where people are hearing the similarities.

I have no complaints because Cowboy Casanova is one of my favorite Carrie songs, but this actually sounds like a better-written and more advanced and mature progression in Carrie's musical style than Carrie's past boy-bashing hits. So lets sit back, relax, and wait for the full song to be released before we start making final judgments, ok?

I just listened to the clip on tumblr, and I like it. I was a bit worried after reading the comments on here and at MJs, but it's not at all like anything Carrie has done before. It sounds fresh, especially the little "breakdown" with the lesser instrumentation. The lyrics are catchy, too. I can't wait to hear the full song.
I do understand where people are getting a Shania vibe from this clip especially in the first 10 seconds...it totally sounds like something Shania might have recorded at one point.

While it does have several similarities to CC, I think there's plenty here that will make it very different. I'm pumped for the full song!

I am what you guys call a lurker. I am on here every day, have been a longtime member under different names(forget my info and start over) . Anyway, too quiet too post, just enjoy reading about Carrie. I think the time has come to make a comment or two. First, we have to remember when we post that we as fans can reflect badly on Carrie. I am the first one to turn the station if Taylor comes on, but think we need to be careful we don't come across as a bunch of rabid fanatics. I know the snippet has been taken down and while i can not wait to hear it, I am one of those that has enjoyed all of Carrie's music. Love her ballads, her gospel and her sassy one. I feel like it is her diversity that is so appealing. As far as growth, just listen to her. From a girl that knew she liked cou try music and rock, she has come a long way. I think the fact that she is co-writing succesfully on many of her songs says a lot. Those bad boy songs were guaranteed winners and she is maybe using that as a marker on so e, but as long as she continues to change tge tines, she will be fine. One of the great appeas is her pure vocal talent on any song. Personally, I don't worry about flow as much as music credibility. One more rant and I will be quiet. I have heard so much criticism of Carrie for her taking time off and not rushing into another album. I respect her so much for putting her marriage ahead of her career for awhile. I think with her values, she may pull a Garth and back right away from it for a while when she does start a family. It is not like she needs the money, she just loves music. I think we should be thankful we have her for however long it may be and remember she does deserve a personal life too. That being said, i can not wait for her new music and hope her tour brings her to Charlotte again. Other than Garth, no one puts on such a concert.

It's difficult to judge on a 30 second clip, but I'm enjoying what I'm hearing. The song has a lot of potential; it's fun and very catchy. I think Carrie could have a huge hit on her hands. Let's wait until we hear the entire song before passing judgement.

I just read the last few pages of this thread, and honestly don't understand why people are being so hard on each other about a 30 second clip lol. It's 30 seconds, people lol! Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Everyone has different tastes and has a different perspective...we are all going to hear different influences when we listen to the clip, and that's perfectly okay ...it makes things fun to read other's views on what they heard in the song versus what you personally hear.
I don't get what the big deal is about making comparisons to other artists. There is always going to be comparisons to other songs because there is just so much music out there at this point. Comparisons aren't always a bad thing. I think GG sounds similar to what Shania might have recorded at one point, but I don't consider that bad because I really like Shania .
I can't wait to read people's opinions when the whole song is revealed ...if things are this wild with just 30 seconds, things should get mighty interesting with a whole 3 or 4 minutes worth of song to discuss lol.
