It always says: "Standard text messaging rates apply." so I am guessing you wouldn't be charged if you have unlimited, but don't take my word for it lol I would call your cell phone carrier and ask just to be sure...

Also, I am not seeing anything about text voting, just online voting. Does anyone remember texting last year?? I just remember texting for ACM EOTY, not CMT VOTY..

Ok, just talked to At&T, they said if you have UNLIMITED TEXT PLAN, IT IS FREE TO VOTE! So if you have unlimited please vote! But idk if we need to have Verizon or what??

Ok never mind, just read the cmt rules and it says Verizon is the only participating carrier, so if you dont have verizon, looks like you cant text vote. So if you have verizon and unlimited text, PLEASE PLEASE VOTE!!

Depends on your plan.
Unlimited texting = no charge.

That's always my advantage during Idol finales. I type in all of their numbers in the address box and send mass votes by copy-pasting, and it works like a charm. I got 2300 votes in for this season's Idol finale.
Let's hope I can do more tonight! As long as it's AT&T voting, I'm set!

Edit: just saw that it's Verizon only. CRAP.
