    Interesting Finds!!!

I've been searching others artist in Wiki to see what they have won. I am shocked by some of my findings:

    Garth Brooks
    -Never won CMA MV

    Kenny Chesney
-who is racking up EOTY wins at the CMA/ACM has NEVER won a Grammy.
-Kenney NEVER won MV at the CMA

    Shania Twain
-Never won FV at the CMA/ACM

    Martian McBride
    -Never won a Grammy

    Reba McEntire:
-ONLY has 2 Grammys (one for FV and one vocal collabration for the heart won't lie)

    Jo Dee Messina
-I am shocked that she has no accolades to her name as I think is a true COUNTRY artist with a GREAT voice, She had 3 straight #1 single from 1998-1999 and is the first woman to have 3 consecutive songs to be multi-week #1 and she has NEVER won FV...,SHOCKING!!

The Shania, Garth and Kenny example shows how the male and female VOCALIST awards were truly about the voice;however, that is NOT the case anymore! NOW it's all about hype!!!

With that said, I must say that we are very fortunate that Carrie has won so many awards; others who would die to have the success that Carrie has... KEEP ON RACKING THEM UP!!!!

That may be true to some extent. The voice may have had a higher weight in the past. But it was never only about the voice. And Kenny did win ACM MV once and Garth won it twice. Also Shania was blacklisted at the awards for several years because of her pop leanings. So her exclusion probably had nothing to do with her voice.

"I feel like it's not about the accolades or the sales numbers or the, you know, awards or any of that. It's about helping people with their lives and making a difference that way."

I think Carrie's biggest country music award is the membership to the Grand Ole Opry - that really distinguishes her - if you read the list of guest artists , the ones that have played there but aren't members it's staggering namely - the Judds, Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack, Alabama, Lynn Anderson, Dixie Chicks , Tanya Tucker, Merle Haggard, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Crystal Gayle, Glen Campbell, Oak Ridge Boys, Earl Scruggs, Carlene Carter , Willie Nelson, George Strait

I may be wrong, but the CMA always seemed more prestigious than the ACM and that is WHY the CMA lost all creditibilty to me for the last two years. (I think the ACM also to advantage of that because in the 2010 ACM, that guy said "That's how you start a country show SON"; to me that was a digg at CMA for having TS start the show at the 2009 CMA)

That's my biggest problem, Shania and even Faith were crucified for remixing but R2D2 (thanks Russ) had no repercussions for her obvious remixing (sames goes for ACM EOTY bribery!)

thats because when Taylor started doing it, it wasnt as shocking because it had already been done before. BUT, pop remixing is becoming WAY too ok imo. However, I still feel like one big thing Carrie Underwood will be remembered for is how big she was and how big she remained WITHOUT remixing; the girl's been around almost 10 years (ok almost 8 but still haha), and still is on top. I think the telling of a true superstar is when they aren't the golden new girl or golden new act and still are considered the most powerful. I think her legendary status will start to really be cemented when she begins going on an awards run again, and it will happen. She IS going to win EOTY at the CMA's one day. Lady A is big, but Carrie still has more star power just because she's a solo act. Plus, this may be the first time in country music where a woman is bigger and will be better remembered then the men of her generation. Keep in mind, I consider Kenny, Brad, and Keith to be in the generation before her. I feel like Carrie became so big so fast that she was in their league in about a year or two and so feels like the four of them came around at the same time. Werent the three of them around in the beginning of the 2000's though?

Agree. But the CMAS caved in and gave SWSRN the kitchen sink in 2009 despite her terrible voice and pop remixing. So that is why I hate them. They snubbed Shania for doing the exact same thing SWSRN does and gets away with. Everyone turns a blind eye when it comes to her.

Then they snub Carrie for EOTY etc. Carrie hasn't won a CMA since 2008. Very sad.

^ not to mention that shania has never been near a laughing stock as SWSRN was especially with her horrific grammy performance in the SAME show she won female vocalist, country album, album, song...etc. what a way to show that she deserved the highest awards.
Shania on the other hand has been an incredible entertainer-never missed a note or a beat.

shania may have remixed but I still feel she held great reverence for country music. SWSRN on the other hand seems like she's just using the country name for herself as stepping stone to making a name in the pop industry. I honestly think she can care less about country-its meaning and legacy.

There are so many artists who are treated like garbage by award show voters, no matter how much success they have, or what they do for country music.
A lot of people used to think Rascal Flatts & Keith Urban were treated unfairly by voters because they were "too pop," then you have artists like Taylor and Lady A who are handed every award in the book for doing the same thing.
Even recent cases, when Flatts & Carrie were left out of ETOY & yet ZZB and Lady A manage to slip in there.
Or how Taylor (and every other artist in the ACM ETOY category, except Keith), gave something away to their fans for voting, yet RF has been practically blacklisted since doing the same thing a few years ago?
If voters are going to have rules, it should at least be expected they uphold industry voters to those standards. If they don't, it's an absolute joke, and unfair to so many hardworking artists.
If they don't like some artists for being too pop, TS and LA should never have won what they did, IMO.

I gave up on award shows. I hate them. They nominate the people who don't deserve awards.

It's sad that none of them got or won any awards. I guess Carrie got a charisma and able to touch the lives of her fans as well.
