Rumor: Taylor Hicks Said Carrie Is Performing at Idol Finale!
guys-- I tweeted mj (a very reliable American Idol Blogger) about the American Idol Finale-- to see if Carrie and Brad are performing. Good news is Mj heard in a Taylor Hicks interview that Carrie will be at the Finale to perform with all the other winners--- which sounds AMAZING if true.
But no word about the Brad duet yet. It could still happen though as Carrie could be performing twice....since those group medleys are usually really short.
mjsbigblog@ny4carrie I heard she was performing with all the other winners. (Taylor Hicks said that in an interview)

Even if she is performing with the other winners, she could still do RM with Brad. First she did the same thing last year as she performed UI and also performed with all the other winners. Plus she is one of the few winners that has not performed in one of the results shows this year.

What date is the finale? Brad is doing a bunch of appearances in New York on May 24 and 25. The appearance on the 25th is in the morning, though, so if the finale is on the 25th he could fly out to LA that afternoon.

^^ That would probably cut it too close. Silly if Brad's management didn't line up a spot for the Idol finale given that's the week his album comes out.

Brad would have to be there to rehearse the day before. It was always speculation on our part about them performing together on the Idol finale. It isn't really surprising that Carrie will be at the finale though as she's been there every year since she won.

Well either way I'll be watching if Carrie is on whether or not she and Brad debuts RM. Sure hoping she does though

Since the 25th is Wednesday, I'd say the results and final show will be the 26th, Thursday. Just a guess though.Originally Posted by epicamends

He might be able to pre-tape some of that stuff--- or maybe Brad and Carrie can rehearse the duet offsite? Who knows. lol Just speculating.
Or-- since Aerosmith is performing at the Idol Finale-- I suppose Carrie could be a surprise guest collab with them, after the Steven Tyler duet.

Thanks! Duh, I should have looked at a calendar. haha. Well I'd say the duet is still a possibility to be performed on the results show, then. Brad could fly into LA after his appearance on The View on the 25th for rehearsal, and be in LA the 26th for the show.
It just seems like it would be a HUGE missed opportunity to not debut the duet on the finale. Not only is it right around the time the duet will be sent to radio, it also happens to be the exact same week as Brad's album is released. Can't really get better publicity than performing on a show that will be seen by tens of millions of people.

I just checked and So You Think You Can Dance opens it's season on May 26. So I guess the Idol finale is on the 25th. And that is too tight. Brad could get there. But there wouldn't be any time to rehearse before the show.

The finale will be on May 25th this season. It's the last day of May sweeps and Idol wants their biggest show to be aired during sweeps.

Perhaps Brad plans to debut the song at the CMT Awards with Carrie instead? That is fine-- but the Idol Finale would have been ideal for his album release promo.

I'm keeping my hopes up! All else fails, at least Carrie will be there performing in some way

And this one says "The season finale of American Idol is slated to air on May 26."
