Will the Fox Christmas Special Be Aired Outside the USA??

I just had a thought. Will they show Carrie's Christmas special in Canada, Australia, UK,, etc?

I hope so as you couldn't ask for better promo for Carrie overseas then this special!

What do you guys think? I want Mike to be able to watch it in Canada at least. lol

I don't think so, maybe Canada but NO for other country. Well, it's Carrie's own show so she should have some broad-appeal in that country to make people to watch it, but Carrie doesn't have that kind of thing, yet. for an example, If some huge UK act who's totally unknown in US, does a holiday show in US, Will you watch it? I don't think so. lol and all of the guests are also more like US star than Worldwide star.

even if they do allow some other affiliate to broadcast the show overseas, it may be shown at odd hours (due to time difference. i remember being in Asia during the indy 500 and there was a press release boasting it was shown in so many countries, but afternoon in the US means 3am in many parts of Asia so i doubt many watched) or weeks after its shown and even then it may not be in prime time

When I was in Singapore last week, I watched "Entertainment Tonight", "So, You Think You Can Dance", "Late Night With David Letterman", so you might never know , it might be played in Singapore since Carrie has been there !

I was wondering the same thing because i am in Argentina, we can watch a lot of USA´s tv shows, but i am not sure if FOX is gonna show us the special.

So Vinman is my salvation, god bless him.

The difference is that the Indy 500 is a Live event, Carries show can be aired at any time.

Fox, is owned by an Australian. Maybe that will help get the show on down under.

ok maybe not the best example. i was just trying to say even if its shown, it may be weeks after, and/or not shown in prime time, or even edited (CMA awards was shown weeks after and cut down to 90 minutes). or it could be shown at a good time. there's no way to know how they choose what to do, but those are some possibilities.

^ This year Australia gets to watch the CMA awards live I think, and it will be the whole show, apparently. I read that somewhere I think.

i am talking about asia (singapore and malaysia specifically, i have friends there and i go there almost every summer). the cable channel that usually carries a lot of American shows is Star World Asia. australia is a different market. i remember seeing the 2007 CMAs broadcast when i was in singapore like months after (probably summer of 08) and they cut out a lot of the early part of the show including Carrie winning single of the year lol

Gotta hand it to Carrie's Aussie and Asian fans... with all the frustration they go through to get Carrie's music or any news of her.... it's amazing that they still continue to be dedicated fans.

It's extremely unlikely to be shown live, or on prime time terrestrial TV, I'm afraid. As people have said, name recognition and local competition from other Christmas season spectaculars are against it.

However, Murdoch does own the Sky satellite network (as well as Fox), and it just might be shown on that. If so, it would only go out to subscribers, and perhaps quite late (but the cable networks also tend to offer the satellite channels, so it's a larger subscriber base)

If it does get shown, I'd love it to be because of Carrie, but here, at present, it would be because of Dolly - who is popular internationally. Still, if that does happen, it would give Carrie exposure - not to a huge audience, but at least to an audience who are likely to be appreciative.

It is almost certain it will not be broadcast down here. Carrie has absolutely no promotion or exposure down here in Australia - most people wouldn't have even heard of her unfortunately. CC hasn't even been released yet ............ it's extremely frustrating!! We just have to rely upon what information we get from here and be extremely grateful to those who can upload videos for us. Otherwise we just don't get to see it

Don't give up hope yet,I have watched plenty of live music awards etc such as the AMAs,MTV when they have been shown live on Fox8.

As for CC it is an absolute joke that it hasn't been released to i-tunes.it is getting radio airplay but tough titties if you like the song,you can't buy it off i-tunes.

Knowing the way Sony are ignoring Carrie my guess is they will probably send 2 copies of PO to Australia for the release.

If it weren't for the CF family keeping us up to date with everything Carrie I
would have given up long ago.
