,,,so it is official? TF is going to country radio? (I hope so cause it felt like it was going to be a long boring spring with MIrandas terrible single. And of course I would rather have a Carrie single. But I can live with TF.
Saw where The Fighter debuted on the Mediabase Activator chart at #56 with no featuring credit for Carrie.
I really like The Fighter and course I love Dirty Laundry and think it sounds great on the radio!! Anxious to see their performance on the Grammys!!
Thanks Madkatt! I actually finally heard it on the radio today- Sirius Highway. It sounded great!
I can't even believe this is going to country radio. As pop as it is.... It's ridiculous.
Has to be Carrie's most pop song ever, more pop than even her Disney tunes and those from Some Hearts. "The Fighter" can even be labeled pop-dance. It sounds like a song Cher would record.
Should be going to Mainstream Top 40, Adult Pop Songs and Adult Contemporary formats.
I'm not criticizing the song, as I love it. I just can't agree with it being promoted to country radio, as it's clearly pop-dance.
Wondering when it's going to be sent to radio, or at least when an announcement is gonna be made about its add date! Doesn't make sense to not release it in time for the Grammy performance so I'm hoping for an announcement any day now

My friend claimed to hear a new edit today, or maybe a demo?
Either way, there were a couple of changes he mentioned.
He didn't deserve you
Cause your precious heart is a precious heart
Was changed to
He didn't deserve you
Cause your precious heart is a work of art
"there was guitar prominent and dance vibes were slightly toned but still far from country. Carrie sounded much more natural and less polished. "
^Wow very interesting! Can't wait til it's officially released to see if this is true, I wish Carrie's vocals were more natural on the original and not so pop sounding, whatever they did to it...its not autotune, but definitely something is there. Her voice on the chorus sounds different than on the bridge where it sounds like normal Carrie
Well, if it is true that they've edited it for country radio, maybe that's why there has been a lag in announcing it with an adds date. Maybe they thought it would be better if they toned down the pop sound before releasing it to country? Then, if they try to crossover with it, they could still use the original album version. It's like a remix, just backwards, lol.
I think they should release it to both pop and country radio. It has that mass appeal and can be a huge crossover for both artists.
The Fighter #155 itunes. Its coming!
^ Good luck with that. haha I love your idea, but they don't usually do Deluxe cds or re-releases.
I do think it could go to pop radio as is, and a slight country remix would be fine by me for country radio.
They need to get the show on the road and set an adds date already. Bloody bored. Lol
Well, I'm sure TF will appear on her Greatest Hits: Decade 2 album, lol!
