I have to admit I hate streaming, although I don't quite understand it all as a whole. I mean, I know what streaming is, but how it all ends up working out is kinda confusing. I miss the day with good old album sales....sure itunes, but that was still album sales. Oh well, nothing we can do about it. I sound like such an old person. ha ha

You're not alone. I even miss the days without all the smart phones, social media obsession. Look who sounds older lol.

Me too, Hil. I'm fine with streaming to prevent illegal downloads and the artists getting paid something instead of nothing. However, I still think the BB200 should only include actual album sales. If you aren't willing to buy the whole, complete album, it shouldn't count.

I hate streaming too. I just want to put my dang cd in the car and turn it on! But I feel too guilty to do that and enjoy it due to streaming. Annoying

It's pretty stupid.. I bought the darn cd Physically and on Download.. Yet if I want to help Carrie I really can't listen to either one.. We live in a very screwy time in music history..When people can stream a brand new Album without buying it seems incredibly counterproductive to me.. And I don't think most people are going to buy the service when their 3 months is up.. Yet there being trained to listen to anything they want without paying for it...

I think its absolutely ridiculous that streaming seriously counts in the first place but especially counts that much. It makes no sense to me. It should be strictly physical album sales. Carrie has consistently been ahead of them in that department. Its the streams that are going to get her. That just doesnt add up to me.

Rumor Mill - U.K. MIDWEEKS: 5SOS ON COURSE FOR #1 ALBUM, ADELE SAYS "HELLO" TO SINGLES-CHART RULE

Monday, October 26, 2015 U.K. MIDWEEKS: 5SOS ON COURSE FOR #1 ALBUM, ADELE SAYS "HELLO" TO SINGLES-CHART RULE
It’s the halfway point in this week’s race to #1, and we’ve got the lowdown on who’s running ahead in Blighty. There’s no doubt Adele will top the Official Singles Chart with “Hello” (XL/Columbia), while Capitol’s Aussie lads 5 Seconds of Summer look set to steal the albums crown with Sounds Good Feels Good. So where’s everyone else?

5SOS's closest competitor is Bryan Adams with his new album Get Up, which got a U.K. release on Friday via Polydor. At #3 is Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott with Wisdom, Laughter and Lines (EMI), followed by Decca opera star Andrea Bocelli with Cinema. Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell rounds out the Top 5 with The Hank Williams Songbook (DMG TV).

Carrie Underwood is expected to be the biggest debut this week stateside and is sitting at #10 midweek on the U.K. Official Albums Chart with Storyteller (19 Recordings/Arista). Joanna Newsom is on track to score a personal chart best with Divers at #7 (Drag City).

Adele has broken records on Vevo (most viewed video in a day) and set the single-day U.S. streaming record on Saturday with her first single in three years, “Hello.” The performance of the track on her home turf is no exception. “Hello” is on course to become the fastest-selling single of 2015, according to the Official Charts Company. Based on early figures, the track has already shifted in excess of 165,000 combined sales and streams since its unveiling on Friday, including 156,000 U.K. downloads alone. That’s an average of 52,000 downloads a day since release, and full-week combined figures are expected to be higher still. The record for biggest opening week of 2015 currently lies with Ellie Goulding - “Love Me Like You Do” (Polydor) managed 173,000 combined sales and streams in its week of release, a figure Adele should comfortably bulldoze through ahead of Friday’s chart reveal.

Meanwhile, Justin Bieber debuts at #2 with his new single, “Sorry” (Def Jam). The track follows Bieb’s recent chart-topper “What Do You Mean?” and is the second single from his forthcoming album Purpose.

Sam Smith’s Bond theme “Writing’s On The Wall” (Capitol) leaps #11 to #3 following his performance on last Friday’s Graham Norton Show, while last week’s #1 from Ministry of Sound “Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)” by KDA slips to #4. Drake’s “Hotline Bling” (Cash Money/Republic) completes the singles Top 5.

Hits Daily Double posted this just recently, but later in the day than their Monday prediction. Doesn't the sentence bolded above indicate that Storyteller may have the highest debut of the week here in the US?

Jim, I think what's he's saying is that HDD UK which is part of HDD (US) posted this update after the one was posted earlier in the US...and that perhaps they had more updated info.

PS: I hope that is true. BTW the UK has had such good reviews of ST. i am so glad other Country's are beginning to hear her music.

The article is about the UK Charts, but the part of the quote that is in bold is referring to the US. Stateside is the US, so maybe they are saying she is projected to debut at #1 in the US. but no way of knowing for sure until the final numbers come out.
