Blown Away On The Mediabase Charts (Blown Away Era)

Actually WANEGBT is not getting that much in airplay outside of the huge spike on Tuesday. It is only getting about 250 spins and 2.3 million AIs per day. Even with a more normal 5 million AI spike on Tuesday, it would only have debutted in the mid-20s on Mediabase. And WANEGBT will pay the price for that huge spike in next Wednesday's update when it will probably loss 7 - 8 million AIs in airplay.

Actually, "Come Over" two weeks at #1 blocked Gloriana. Then, the week after "Come Over" ended its 2-week reign, the label couldn't push it past "Angel Eyes". Now, its run out of gas and "Over" is the lucky benefactor. Its quite a coincidence that a number of Blake's latest songs has had SUPER EASY path to #1.

What record label is Blake with? I haven't felt like his songs have been anything different or exciting lately - they seem the same. I guess radio really likes him?

I just want to see a daily increase for Blown Away - I don't need it to go straight to the top (althought that would cause less worry ) - just a steady increase. Is that too much to ask for?

On Canadian Country, BA (+7 spins, -0.002 million AIs) moves up 2 spots to #17.

If as Pi says, Over gets 2 weeks at the top, I'm not sure why the Label didn't share 1 week with Gloriana?

Blake is a format superstar at the moment. Radio has finally fully embraced him after all these years, and his label (Warner Nashville to answer Liz's question) is trying to get all the mileage out of him that they can right now. They are pushing hard because they likely know that country music is pretty fickle is recent years. The industry could easily switch their attention to another male artist at any moment. There is a lot of competition amongst the men of country right now. Blake is going for seven #1s in a row apparently, so I can see why the label would be pushing for that impressive feat.
Gloriana did well to get their song to #2. It is a great song, but they are still so new. After losing the #1 last week to Love & Theft, I don't honestly know how long they could of actually held off Blake and LBT anyway. Blake's song has been having similar movement (aka lots of spins lol) for pretty much its entire run, so it's not surprising the label would choose to go ahead and let him have the top spot instead of pushing Gloriana. The label still has plenty of bragging rights with the #2 song for Gloriana.

Or am i mistaken? I was kind of hoping the SS debut record would still be intact on mediabase anyway. I know she will break it on billboard.

Yes, today is the last day of the Mediabase chart week. But SS did not debut at #20 on Mediabase. SS debuted at #25 on Mediabase. And WANEGBT is already above that.

It looks like BA will stay ahead of WANEGBT on Mediabase. However, WANEGBT will pass BA on next week's Billboard chart. But WANEGBT will take a big airplay hit next week and should drop back below BA.

I agree with you! I know that SB & BMR have a lot of clout with radio programmers, but if radio keeps playing WANEGBT and it hits #1 on country charts I will give up all hope . . . (I can't stand that song along with Truck Yeah).
