I think what we're seeing, is a lot of artist who used to have the "it" factor are loosing popularity to newcomers such as Luke, Jason, and that douche Eric Churchbag.

» "Wind"-Aided:Congratulations to Zac Brown Band and the crew at Southern Ground/Atlantic on the No. 1 overall and country debut of Uncaged. ZBB's third studio album sold approximately 234,000 units last week, according to Nielsen SoundScanfigures. Only Carrie Underwood's Blown Away has totaled more first-week country sales this year, with her May 19 debut of nearly 267,000.
I heard GG on the radio turned it way up, and a couple of songs later heard Truck Yeah and man I couldn't lower the volume fast enough! I was hoping to hear BA but didn't![]()
'Better Than I Used To Be' is a wonderful song IMHO, as was 'My Little Girl'. The fact that 'BTIUTB' has done extremely well this year without much of a push after it cracked the top ten speaks to the strength of the song, as well as Tim's solid relationship with country radio.
The fact that it's the most played song of the year since January 1st on country radio despite 'only' reaching #5 at Country Aircheck/Mediabase is definitely among the most astonishing chart runs I've ever seen, although Brantley Gilbert will pass him on Sunday, and Kip Moore will do likewise sometime next month.
Every label in Nashville undoubtedly pursued him given his staggering airplay numbers over the past 18 years, and especially over the past dozen or so; 7.8 million spins between 2000 & 2009, including almost 488,000 for 'Something Like That' trounced everybody pretty convincingly.
I'm currently writing a song called "Girls Look Sexy in Fuel Efficient Cars".
It's for my album entitled "Economy Class".

Another huge gain for Truck Yeah. Just crazy.
What is this doing to runs like FGIT?

And can you even begin to imagine what this is going to mean when TS drops her first new single?
I can only imagine.
Let me just say that I am extremely happy that LITTLE BIG TOWN is finally gonna have the MONSTER hit that they deserve... PONTOON is just a great fun song.... As for Aldean.... He is a ROCKER... AND I LOVE IT.... His material is always top notch... And his concerts are events...He deserves all of his success...
I think MISTER McGRAW is gonna find out that when you shove a bad song down people's throats it will take a very long time to recover...BMR could be even worse for his career then CURB was......
I actually think that "Girls Look Hot in Trucks" song is a Love & Theft song, Tee. Lol. I think I remember them singing it at the Opry (and CMA Fest), during which I had to roll my eyes.Their "Angel Eyes" song is definitely a LOT better.
Agree. I love LBT and they have more then paid their dues, always overlooked by other bands like LAdy A etc. So I really hope this new album will be their time to finally shine.
JAson is deserving of his success-- agree. He has paid his dues, worked hard, and waited his turn so to speak. I don't like all his songs, but I love his voice when he does ballads. Ie- when he sings Why, Green Tractor, Fly Over States, etc-- his vocals are at their best. I do think he deserves Male Vocalist this year, and maybe even EOTY too.
Does anybody know how many spins has Carrie got since 2005?
Zac Brown Band's opening again shows how huge "Blown Away"'s opening was. ZBB is the ONLY Country act who opened with more than 200k copies this year, and Lady Antebellum was the ONLY act last year. And for the rest of the year, it's likely that only Taylor Swift and Jason Aldean, among Country acts can touch 200k copies and beyond. And we still have yet to see a 400k opening this year!
^^^
Hillary specifically said COUNTRY ARTIST.... LOL
BA (+78 spins, +0.684 million AIs) remains at #30.
On Canadian Country, BA (+18 spins, +0.067 million AIs) moves up 3 spots to #37.
"I feel like it's not about the accolades or the sales numbers or the, you know, awards or any of that. It's about helping people with their lives and making a difference that way."
