Love Love Love you BA!!
What an amazing run.
So much drama and intrigue.
I guess there will never be another run on the charts without drama.
This was as close as we got and the whole scene exploded on the day of her #1!
Ha ha!
We Will Always Remember Where We Were When Blown Away Hit #1!!!!!!!
Just as a reminder guys lets keep requesting on HAC. As one door closes another one opens. Let's see what Blown Away can do there especially while we're waiting for single number 3 for country radio
Great run! It was very stable after it peaked for a while, which was really nice since a lot of the time she can't hold the top spot for very long.
It sucks that this run is over though, it was so easy and fun, and it was for one of her greatest singles ever! I'm hoping single #3 will be as easy.
I was hoping for a third week as well, since very few of the songs which recently spent at least three weeks in the penthouse were tunes that I really liked, with 'Don't Blink' (6 weeks) and 'The House That Built Me' (4 weeks) immediately coming to mind.
Hopefully the new single will be announced Monday evening in Country Aircheck.
Hard to believe that it will be six years come Tuesday when 'Before He Cheats' rose to #1 for a four-week stay, went on to become an across-the-board megasmash at Top 40, Hot AC & AC stations nationwide, eventually replaced 'Bye Bye' as country radio's #1 'Power Gold' cut by a female (where it remains today), and remains a format staple in the libraries at essentially every Hot AC & AC radio station out there five-plus years later.
Can someone tell me how Carrie did on the CMT Top 20 countdown this week for BA? For some reason no one posts about CMT Top 20 countdown anymore...or maybe I can't find the thread. I keep voting-- but I can't tell if she has hit number 1 yet?
Seems crazy she still has not hit number 1 when she spent 10 weeks at number 1 on GAC.
92.3 The Beat @TheBeat923 We have a winner! Blown Away by Carrie Underwood won 4 to 1. It will compete with a new song tomorrow night at 10.
'Before He Cheats' was #1 for four weeks at Country Aircheck/Mediabase; I'm not sure about Billboard.
5 weeks on Billboard.![]()
I believe Carrie should expose her sensitive, personally sensitive side and go for FOREVER CHANGED. I think lyricially, vocally, impression the whole works is perfect for country radio and sentimental enough to possibly do a quiet but steady crossover. I want her to open up a bit more. That song, when I first heard it, made me cry. This is not an easy thing to do to me. But I bawled. It was so perfect and touching in all the right ways. I feel it highlights her as a human being feeling something very personal. It comes through loud and clear.
If not this one then I'm all in on 2BC's. I want her voice to send the message it intends and she does it well on this song. A couple of the songs mentioned are just a little too cutesy if you will after such a strong first two. Sometimes if you go from too strong to too cute, it doesn't go over well. Better to go up and then come down slowly.
JMO.... I love hearing everyone else's take on this. Good reading.
Ok, this is getting interesting now. BA (-57 spins, -0.203 million AIs) remains at #1 with a smaller loss than yesterday. Lee Brice's HTL (+16 spins, +0.125 million AIs) is slowing. And Luke Bryan's KTG (+116 spins, +0.611 million AIs) continues to close in. And right now, any of the 3 top songs could end up at #1 on Mediabase on Sunday. HTL is still #1 on the real-time tracker.
On Hot AC, BA (+4 spins, +0.031 million AIs) remains at #44.
On Canadian Country, BA (-10 spins, +0.004 million AIs) remains at #6.
"I feel like it's not about the accolades or the sales numbers or the, you know, awards or any of that. It's about helping people with their lives and making a difference that way."
