This is exactly the issue that Carrie has always had to contend with.
They don't nominate her cause she is too new, she has not paid her dues.
(but they nominate those who are just as new)
They don't nominate her cause she has not toured enough.
(but they nominate those who toured far less)
They don't nominate her cause her tour is not big enough.
(but they nominate those who have no tour of their own at all)
They don't nominate her cause her tour was not in the elegibility period.
(but they nominate those who's last tour was successful)
They don't nominate her ............(period)
Sure Carrie's had #1/#2 singles, but that doesn't mean they're all amazing songs. Undo It was fun and moved a lot of digital copies, but it's not a song that's gonna help Carrie win awards, and neither really is Mama's Song. Temporary Home was overshadowed by The House That Built Me and even then it doesn't compare to Just A Dream, Jesus Take the Wheel, or even So Small IMO. We all know that a #1 single doesn't mean much anymore. If Carrie had as big of hits these past few years that you suggest, then she would have had a better shot at FVOTY and might have even nabbed one or two, wouldn't she? I don't recall anyone here saying Carrie had a solid contender (except maybe TH) to help her beat out Miranda/The House The Built Me/White Liar. In fact I recall most people here being rather content the first few years that Miranda won (aside from the general mentality of wanting your own favorite artist to win), as opposed to being mad that "Carrie should have been the clear winner given that she had major hits X and Y."
Was "Blown Away" sent to radio today?

The criteria for CMA EOTY is kind of vague. It doesn't really say anything about touring but I believe it does say something about staging. To me staging has to do with touring. I don't remember the exact wording but I do remember the year Carrie got snubbed and I believe it was a spokesperson from the CMA association that said the nomination/award is not about touring. However, I do believe that the artists themselves think it is about touring, sales, hits on the radio as well as how they are perceived overall and how they represent the genre.

It has one add so far by KFRG today spinning it 8 times so far
Like I said in my post Ty.... Either the song was sent out to Radio or my station(KFRG) edited the song on their own... Because the ending was much shorter as I stated..... I guess we should know very soon... If it starts showing up on other stations with the shorter version we will know its available for MPE download for Country Radio....
Yes!!! KFRG is my local radio station. I can't wait to start hearing Blown Away soon.
Also, I don't understand why people make a big deal out of awards. I'd much rather Carrie have a multi-platinum album, plenty of #1 platinum-selling singles, a successful tour, and devoted fans than a couple of awards. Let's not forget that during the Some Hearts era Carrie was sweeping every award show left and right so why are some people whining that Carrie never wins awards and they should give others a chance now. I'm sure the Gretchen Wilson, Faith Hill, Martina McBride fans were just as annoyed with Carrie as some are with Miranda and Taylor right now. It's great being recognized but people make losing a few awards (she still wins many such as two recent CMT awards) into a mountain of problems when it's really just a grain of sand. I bet Carrie is thankful for getting awards from the industry but she's just out there doing what she loves; I hope she never loses that or changes it for the sake of winning a meager award.

IA the successful albums, tours and singles are the most important but it would be nice to see her recognized by her peers particularly. I do think it is time she won FVOTY again. The singles and song nominations will have to play out a little more to see how they compare to the competition. Hopefully she will get a CMA nom after this upcoming tour.
The #1 country song at the Opry Live ! Enjoy !

I'm gonna send a not to kfrg to thank them.
And yes, russ. I heard the editted version to. I forgot to tell you guys that.
So it must be the official radio edit.
Didn't Carrie talk in one of her promo interviews that there were a couple of singles that they knew needed to have radio edits? Seems I remember her talking about how the musicians kept playing and it was so cool so they left it but that would be cut for the radio edit.
Because it creates a lot of media activity that inturn helps all the sales. As far as giving someone else a turn this is not grade school, it is business and as far as I am concerned Carrie has earned far more recognition than the others you speak of. If they have the talent fine. Who in music has as much talent as Carrie?
The end where she's says Blown Away 3 times is my favorite part!!!!!!
