I'm telling yall, they meant to certify it platinum haha
Becca
No, I think they meant platinum. It's already been pointed out in this thread how alot of other artists and labels have songs certified before they've reached the plateau they really need to reach. I think its clear that Good Girl will reach the platinum level in just a few more weeks, after all, I don't believe its sold less than 60,000 per week since its been released.
Oh please there was never any doubt it would reach platinum status![]()
This is great Carrie news. Thanks for posting.

Yahoo Good Girl.
I agree with Becca in that this bods well for the label allowing (even pushing) it at other formats, soit is a forgone conclussion that it will get it's platnium status.
I saw that in my aircheck and thought they were mistaken and the certification was really gold. Certifications are based on shipments. It is only selling digitally. How does it go platinum. Now the cd can go platinum right away because it can be shipped that way. Digital downloads are a mystery if they can certify them platinum with 700k downloaded.
The RIAA only certified "Good Girl" Gold like 2 days ago. It was on the RIAA website. So I seriously doubt that after 2 days, they just decided to certify it Platinum all the sudden. Obviously, it's going to get there, but I'm pretty sure Country Aircheck meant to say "Gold".
No, it was Gold. Single certification is based strictly on digital sales as there aren't physical singles anymore. That is why single certification can be so fast. It does not have to deal with all the rules albums have for shipments. So to be certified Platinum, it needs to sell 1 million copies and obviously it has not done that yet.

Boooooo!
Thats ok, we can wait a few weeks!!
WSTW a hot a/c station in Wilmington, Delaware is having a contest. The last 3 songs standing out of 5 are GG, Payphone by Maroon 5 and Burn It Down by Linkin Park. If anyone on CF is from that area can you text or e-mail your favorite song (GG, I hope)
Thanks. I think the DJ's name is AAron

I'm obviously gonna vote for GG, but I LOVE Payphone as well.
GG (-37 spins, +0.069 million AIs) moves up a spot to #7 as it passes Jake Owen's AWY. The spin loss is clearly due to After Midnite. Fortunately Zac Brown Band's NH (+22 spins, -0.045 million AIs) and Tim McGraw's BTIUTB (-2 spins, +0.017 million AIs) are also stalled at the moment.
On Hot AC, GG (+9 spins, +0.103 million AIs) drops a spot to #38.
GG has dropped out of the top 50 on AC.
On Canadian Country, GG (+21 spins, +0.064 million AIs) moves up a spot to #2.

Need bigger updates!! Thanks cary. I think GG really has a chance to be big on Hot AC. It will be fun to track. I believe the adds date is next week.
Cary, do you think that GG's slow chart movement is perhaps Country radio's response to GG because they see it as too pop? If it is I don't know why it took them at least 4 weeks to decide that it was too pop...wierd. On the other hand perhaps they feel they owe Carrie something as a country superstar and so are letting GG climb but.. only so far? There is still a glimmer of hope in my heart that GG will get to #1. But to do that it needs bigger gains. Poor GG sitting in limbo..it's movement on the chart up or down is due to attrition and not anything it's doing on it's own.

I believe GG will get some gains when Carrie starts her promo for her album. But I gotta say I'm worried right now...
