I noticed the sales figures at 54% earlier this afternoon where Miranda and two Taylor albums were in the top 50. Then, the final numbers came in and these albums just missed out.

Adele just keeps selling. Wow. What are her total sales at this point of "21"?
Also, does anyone have the cumulative sales for Lady A's "Own The Night" up to this point? I know they got their platinum plaque before Christmas.

You're welcome. As ch_hilary mentioned, "21" is a rare album that may achieve Diamond. Amazing.

    OT: Metallica made this chart.

Holy crap, Adele. O_O I haven't heard the album in its entirety. Is it that good? I might buy it. Albums just don't sell like that nowadays. Wow. I like these music revolutions when artists who start out as underdogs randomly become top dog.

I was just gonna reply, "No Carrie? Don't care." But apparently, I care enough to reply to three quotes.(x

I saw that. What the heck? Death Magnetic is a terrible album, even Metallica fans think so. The only worse Metallica albums are St. Anger and their latest one, the ever dreadful Lulu.

One of the lyrics from that album is now a popular Internet meme.

The album is very good. You should give the album as a whole a try. Buy it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed

And probably at 16 million copies globally this week!

She's already at around 1.4 million copies in the States for the Billboard year 2012. If Carrie doesn't outsell her, she'll probably have the yearly #1 album AGAIN.

I didn't keep track of them, they didn't sell many more copies outside of America.

I'm going to the record store to pick up In Absentia by Porcupine Tree, and I've got this buy 1 get 1 free at my store (since I shop there so often, the metal guy at the store gave me that deal lol), so I'll pick up 21 while I'm at it.

I bought 21 the week it came out and it is really excellent. I prefer it to 19 although there are a handful of songs on 19 that are really great and some of my favorites. Ryan Tedder's co-writes with Adele on 21 including Rumor Has It (a HUGE favorite of mine) and Turning Tables make me feel better about the possibility of him having a song with Carrie on her upcoming album. However, I also don't have a problem with Tedder in general. I think he did some good work this last year. Even people who complain about Halo and Already Gone I don't really think have a case at this point as both songs did so well and continue to garner sales and airplay. I agree that was not an ideal scenario - wouldn't want it to happen to Carrie.

19 has my favorite Adele's song: Hometown glory. And I agree with you about Ryan Tedder. I still prefere another choice for the new Carrie's record.
