^^^Indeed, not bad. In its 66th week, PO is within rounding "error" of being the highest selling Idol alum CD. I can see PO being #1 amongst Idol alum CD sales next week... which doesn't speak much of the Idol alums though.

Yeah, it seems as though Carrie is really the only consistent one, or the one who is "out there", like at events, awards shows, tours...when I think about Idol, the first person who comes to mind is Carrie. Yeah, I'm a little biased (lol), but Carrie is truly the most famous one, right now.

Yeah Last Name Has sold enough to be certified platinum though I don't think it is as of yet for all female artists Carrie is in second place for most platinum singles Mariah Carey has 9 and nearly 10
    those being
One Sweet Day at 2.55 million Fantasy at 2.4 million dreamlover at 1.8 million Hero at 1.6 million Always Be My Baby at 1.6 million Honey at 1.4 million We Belong Together at 1.3 million Obsessed at 1.2 million & My All at 990k so her total for those 10 singles alone is 14.5 million without digital so 8average is 1.5 million carrie's total comes out at 9.865.000 or 4.365.000 beind Mariah and her average is 1.644.166

I just read that SWSRN has 12 platinum singles so that couldn't be accurate, unfortunately.

That article was referring to COUNTRY astists. From the RIAA website, Mariah has 11 platinum singles, 3 of which has gone to double platinum, and several platinum mastertones.

It may... but perhaps it will take 2+ years if CC outsells JTTW by 2k per week. I am happily surprised that JTTW sold about 60k in the last 5 months based on the last data point. That equates to about 140k per year. Gives me hope that JTTW will get to 2x Platinum, eventually.

Of course, there's no way Carrie could beat TS in single-sales, she sells digital music like water.
However, if you think about Country music overall, it's a huge deal.
Finally, LN reached platinum status. Seems like forever now it was at 900k.
    Thanks for the info!

Not according to the RIAA site. I count 10 in their database. But it is still more than any other country act (please don't post about whether Taylor is country or not).

I looked up a number of country artists so you can see what Carrie's 6 Platinum singles means in the context of country music.

    Taylor Swift - 10
    Carrie Underwood - 6
    Rascal Flatts - 3
    Brad Paisley - 3
    Sugarland - 3
    Lady Anteebellum - 2
    Zac Brown Band - 2
    Miranda Lambert - 2
    Jason Aldean - 2
    Kenny Chesney - 0
    Keith Urban - 0
    Brooks & Dunn - 0
