If you check the future releases on All Access, you will see that noone has an adds date in the near future on AC or Hot AC. Perhaps adds dates are avoided on these formats as the Christmas season approaches.
I just saw that DYHWIH is already at #25 on the AC chart.Cary are you going to do the updates for that too or not yet?
I will probably start after Thanksgiving when more AC stations switch over. But it looks like it will be like the last 2 years. Josh Groban will be #1 and Carrie will be #2.
CC (-69 spins, -0.627 million AIs) remains at #2 but is losing airplay faster. With CC being the hot song on CCUSA, it is still possible for CC to hold off Luke Bryan's Do I (-5 spins, -0.05 million AIs) and end the week at #2 this week. Lady Antebellum's NYN (-1 spin, -0.115 million AIs) lost a little airplay today.
On Hot AC, CC (+5 spins, +0.018 million AIs) remains at #39.
I have also made 2 additions to the summary.
TH is currently at #73 on the Country chart with 29 spins and 0.201 million AIs. Note that TH still hasn't officially been sent to radio. It could go to radio next week. But with CC guaranteed to stay well inside the top 10 and maybe even in the top 5 next week, they may wait until after Thanksgiving to send TH to radio.
And DYHWIH is currently at #24 on the AC chart with 121 spins and 1.225 million AIs.
I think this song means a lot to Carrie so it was going to be released as a single. This is a great time for it release w/ all the promo in place, the cmt and fox specials featured the song. It is a beautiful song.
I honestly wish Quitter was the 2nd single. I really think TH is too predictable for Carrie at this point in her career.
IMO, TH is a miles better song than Quitter. So on that point, I agree with the choice.
And the choice may be predictable. But that is who Carrie is. She really believes the inspirational songs she sings, and she puts out all her heart into it. There's no reason to change who she is and not stay true to herself. Otherwise, it will be seen as calculating and compromising on her part.
Do not be fooled by what I'm saying. Please listen carefully and try to hear what I'm not saying.

Quitter would have been amazing
But I wanna see how the video for TH turns out to be
I'm hoping Quitter would be released later on because that song could actually do very well on pop.

I would love for Carrie to release Quitter and Songs Like This because both are unlike anything shes every done. Quitter was most popular on iTunes when the album came out, and I feel Songs Like This is either a love or hate song like It Happens, but its just so catchy and the beat is great.
Didn't Carrie say it was looking like a lot of the singles from PO will be songs she cowrote? IMO the songs she cowrote that are most likely to be released are MS or UI with WCIS and PO having a small chance of being released (I don't think they'll release Unapologize). The songs Carrie didn't cowrite that are most likely to be released IMO are SLT and SWISLY because those 2 are the ones that are getting the biggest acclaim. I really like This Time too but I don't think it's likely it'll get released.
I think it could go CC-TH-MS-SLT-SWISLY if there are 5 singles and TH does really well. Releasing MS after TH would mean MS would be on the radio for Mother's Day. But if TH struggles on the charts they might go for an uptempo after TH like SLT or UI and it could go CC-TH-UI/SLT-WCIS/PO/MS-SWISLY (if there are 5 singles). If there are just 4 singles then I hope they go CC-TH-SLT-SWISLY.
Another interesting combo if there's 5 singles could be CC-TH-TT-SLT-WCIS but I wonder if they'd really not release SWISLY with all the positive comments Carrie's gotten for it.
I think TH was a good choice for the 2nd single since it is Winter and Christmas time, so it is appropriate to slow it down with an inspirational ballad.
Davilas I like your choices except for one song. lol I think that if she releases Mama's Song as a single, I just feel that is a big mistake. Sorry but I feel it is a beautiful song but a bit dull and not right for radio. When it is performed live, it doesn't get a great reaction like CC or TH do. Plus if they ignore a song as great as SWISLY, and release Mama's song just because it is a Carrie co-write, that would be an epic fail. lol What Can I Say is also fantastic and so much better then MS. I would even love Look at Me as a 5th single if that is they released it as it is SO pretty.
But I love Quitter and/or This Time too, and really hope they release a mid-tempo after TH, because releasing MS after TH would pretty much kill her album sales. That is 2 slow songs in a row and neither is super radio friendly nor the type of song that will sell albums. But TH is a great song so it deserves to be on radio even if it doesn't hit number 1 or sell records. I understand why it was released and I am glad they did so. But following TH with MS would not help album sales at all as it is just not radio friendly.
After Quitter or This Time for single 3, they could release a fast song in the summer, and sWISLY for Fall 2010. If they do 6 singles, the could release another in Spring 2011.(that will never happen- lol)
I hope it goes like this:
CC
TH
Quitter or This Time for spring
Undo It or Songs Like This for Summer
SWISLY for Fall 2010*
Single 6-- What Can I Say*
