**ROUND 4: Last Name vs. Get Out Of This Town

Last Name put a halt to Flat On The Floor's 3-week reign. But will it hold up against Get Out Of This Town?! Voting will be open for 4 days!

Take Last Name to the slaughterhouse, GOOTT.

Edit: I'd like to express my gratitude to Carrie for including GOOTT in the BA setlist. It was a dream of mine to see it and CD live, and I'm glad I did. :')

I hardly ever listen to GOTT now, but I still think it's one of Carrie's strongest album tracks ever. Just a great song; I loved that it was included on the tour, too.

I remember when I first got the album, I would put GOTT on repeat for hours.

While I like LN, the studio version hasn't held up well for me; I love it live, though.

Get Out Of This Town. It's perfection. Carrie knows how to paint a mental imagine in your head!

One of my favorite songs is GOOTT. Like others have already said, it should have been a single.

I so agree with you there - those have been two undeservedly rather under-appreciated songs, and it's great to see them revived for some new love!

"Get Out of This Town" is by the same American/Canadian/British team of Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Steve McEwen, responsible for two of Carrie's best songs ("Just A Dream" and "Someday When I Stop Loving You"), and, like those, this stands a little apart from the more predictable Mainstream formula. GOOTT, with it's insistent, driving beat, instrumental variations and solid Country vocal has touches that take Carrie closer to work being done in the Alt Country sector. The introduction and the finish are both unexpected, and Carrie achieves a great match between her vocal and the music. For me, this confident performance foreshadows some of the work Carrie's now highlighting in the BA era..

Get Out Of This Town hands down.

Carnival Ride should have been Carrie's chance to pull a Shania; IMO FOTF GOOTT and IKYW should have also been released as singles (or at least one of the three)
