    Always makes me cry

I just wanted to say that Carrie's new album really touches my heart. It really hits home with me because as a guy, I can relate to a lot more songs on this album than I could in her previous ones, especially "See You Again" and "Blown Away". My mother passed away last July and that was one of the hardest days of my life. I'm still slowly getting over it, and this Mother's Day is going to be depressing, I can see it now. Anyway, back on topic, like I said, "See You Again" really hits home with me. It makes me feel a little better because I know I'll get to see my Mom again someday. However, I simply can't listen to that song without crying. It's impossible for me.

I can also relate to "Blown Away" in so many ways. My Mom was pretty much the one who raised me and my brothers. She did it all while my alcoholic jerk of a father would always be passed out. He never cared about any of us, at least he never showed it. He'd be drunk on every holiday, special occasion, and whenever he wasn't drunk, he was a jerk to us all. After my mom passed away, I was the only one left living with my so-called dad and he pretty much kicked me out. Thankfully, my girlfriend's parents took me in to live with them. I just can't simply describe how much "Blown Away" means to me. It's pretty much my entire life summed up... and it also makes me shed a tear.

Your story touched me and I hope that you will find healing in See You Again. Carrie said that what she loved about JAD was that it told the story of someone that no one had talked about before and I think this album will be the same for a lot of people. So I will pray that you will find healing in the future.

And this is what music is really about (for me anyway). I'm glad you find comfort in these songs, and all I can say is Im more than happy to talk with you whenever you want or need it.

Agreed, this is exactly why the world needs music. Music can affect a person like nothing else.

To the original poster, I hope time heals everything a bit. I'm a guy as well and while I've always been able to relate to Carrie's music easily enough, this album definitely bumps it up a notch. "Good in Goodbye" could not have come at a better time in my life. I've only recently recovered from some difficult times and GIG really reminded me how much of a better person I am for persevering. Carrie beautifully put what my friends and family have been trying to tell me for years "As bad as it was, as bad as it hurt, I thank God I didn't get what I thought that I deserved."
I will openly admit when I heard this on the Fan Club stream for the first time I absolutely lost it.

I hear ya! Thanks for sharing with us. I can definitely relate to See You Again too, it's made me tear up many a times already. Even though it's a pretty upbeat song it just gets me emotional! I recently lost a dear family member and this song gives me joy in knowing I will see her again. It's definitely a sad song but happy in the same way having that reassurance. It's my favorite song on the album.
