The lyrics, production , delivery all spot on! I love all the different styles Carrie gives us.Having said that ...does GG seems a little out of place after listening to the rest of the cd to anyone else?

I view GG as a sort of prologue, recapping Carrie's past albums, then BAM! Epic album. lol

Lovin' the album and I can't seem to get enough of Two Black Cadillacs - love the part "And the preacher said he was a good man....." The wait was definitely worth it!

So I just heard Blown Away (the single) in it's entirety.
As I wipe away the tears from my eyes I am somewhat surprised by my own response to it.
As an uptempo song you would not expect it to have such an impact.
I am an adult survivor of abuse (I'm telling you this for the first time), And this song speaks to me in such a personal way.
The idea that I, personally, do not have to take action to participate in the ugliness of my situation but that nature would come and make things right simply reduced me to tears.
It is so effective that she would sing of the strength and power of Gods natural world. The idea that I could be cleansed by it is so powerful to me.
It is immediately my favorite song, and though it may be difficult for radio to support or for many (who have not experienced what I have) it is incredibly cathartic.
And I thank you Carrie, for once again having the bravery to sing about things that may be difficult but you feel have a higher purpose than just chart runs!
    Thanks for this song.

I think the track Blown Away could be a huge hit for Carrie. It's a shift in direction for her; it's dark and stormy and her voice is impeccable on it. Everyone is talking about this song. I can't wait to see an accompanying music video.

Wow, that is incredibly powerful. I'm so glad you overcame your situation and were able to come out stronger. Carrie always says she wants her music to impact people, to bring joy, and to heal, and it sounds like that's exactly what she has done for you. Hearing your own situation set to music can be extremely powerful, and the power and connection in Carrie's voice is beautiful, haunting, and cleansing all at the same time. Even in sad songs like "Blown Away," "Two Black Cadilacs" or "Just A Dream" Carrie's interpretation and vocal power has the power to heal and bring new, hopeful prospectives; there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks s much for sharing that.

Carrie is amazing. She really conveys the emotion and she sings with such heart, that's why people gravitate towards her music. When you can relate to music it will always get a emotion out of any person.

I agree. Carrie puts her very soul into each song she sings. Her passion for each song is as strong as a tornado. So, get ready to be "blown away!"

Yes, Music is very often the one place that someone who feels trapped can go to find a voice that understands and that can even speak to them about change and a better time and place.
I have always gravitated towards inspirational music I think because of this. I lived a time where there seemed no hope for a better tomorrow. But I believed it when I heard it sung "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" "Bridge OVer Troubled Water" "The Rose" "I Hope You Dance" "How Great Thou Art"...the list is endless.
And some singers who are artists choose to create opportunities for people to heal. It's amazing really what music can do "both for good or for bad".
And Carrie makes those efforts to find healing for people in music. And the critics call it semtimental hogwash.
But God is in it, and the people who need it, find it. I can only hope.
But thanks for the kind words. This is a place of healing often also. Even if we do want to stranggle eachother sometimes. (wink).

Do you think that the women killed the guy in TBC or do you think he killed himself? Because the second verse says that the wife found out and called the mistress two months before the guy died. Two months is way too long a time to wait before taking revenge for something like cheating. So I'm thinking maybe when they decided "he won't get away", it was the whole yelling, screaming, clothes burning, Louisville slugger deal and the guy killed himself two months later because of depression or something. Am I thinking about this too much?

Edit: okay just noticed the 'he's not the only one with a secret to hide' line. So I guess they did kill him.
