I don't watch American Idol - but I'd be grateful if any fans of the show could give me an update on how this singer is doing.
She's from Texas, now working in Nashville as a songwriter and demo singer, and has appeared at the Bluebird and 3rd & Lindsley. She apparently turned down a record deal as a child, because Disney wanted to brand her as Pop, and she preferred a Roots identity.
Ashley Monroe and Kacey Musgraves both recommend her highly.
Here's a video of one of her performances (a cover of a Grace Potter song)
I don't watch Idol and I have no idea how good this girl is. But I know Kacey has been endorsing her big time on twitter....may have to give her a listen.
She's in the top ten.
Sang very well, lots of praise from the judges.
Based on the comments tonight, Kree's performance tonight was far and away the judges favorite performance of the night.
The young lady is VERY good.
I think she is great! And she has that down-to-earth, real personality like Carrie did when she was on Idol. That's what drew me to Carrie, and that what draws me to Kree.
Saw her on Idol tonight. Her and Angela are my two favourites so far.
I think her performance was my favorite of the 10 last night. Her voice just melts me.
I like her. She is way better then the blonde Carrie want to be who was pitchy as hell tonight and so over-rated. Of the 2 country singers--- she is by far the best.
Kree is special.
I have a feeling that young lady will be opening for Keith on tour in the very near future.
I agree about hearing Trisha in her song last nite! She has se of that soulfulness that Trisha has!! Been my favorite from the start!!
I have not willingly watched Idol since Carrie won, but I DVR it for my daughter and we watch it together. This girl stands a real chance. She is the first contestant that I have been rooting for in some time. There is a rich soulfulness to her voice that I am in love with. It is a voice that should sound amazing on radio and be different enough from the other voices on the top if the charts to do well.
On another note, that song she cowrote in memory if her parents is unbelievable. It js so much more emotional and deep than Over You. It is a song that I could listen to every day if only it did not make me sob like a baby. It is just beautiful and deserves radio play.
She and Angela Miller should be top 2, but I think Angie is more popular and will likely get more votes to win it, though Kree has a better voice. Kree performed Faith Hill's Stronger recently and killed it.
I just saw Kree singing Orbison's Crying. I think this girl has a real shot a winning. I think it s real telling when Keith s so enamored of her voice and in particular the tone and emotion of her voice that he says he would buy her album if it were to come out today. He thinks she us ready and so do I. This is the first person I have been behind since Carrie and I would be real surprised if she did not win. If she does not happen to win I would think the powers that be would be signing her to a deal. What a talent!
Kree is the only reason I am watching the competition this year.
I really like her. She and Candice are the best.
