Paula Abdul Said to Launch Her Own Record Label

Paula Abdul, who decided to exit from "American Idol" earlier this year, reportedly will develop her own recording company. She is allegedly interested to sign the Idol outcasts who are considered to have potential but were dropped from the Idol label, 19 Recordings.

"Paula's not naming any names because she wants to sign talent quietly so she can maximize her investment," a source told The National Enquirer. "But she definitely has her eye on artists who released records, and then got lost in the shuffle."

If the rumor is true, Paula will try to reach out the likes of Katharine McPhee, Ruben Studdard, Blake Lewis, Taylor Hicks and other former Idol contestants who have left 19 Recordings. [all under contract elsewhere I believe--Naco]

On previous news, Paula Abdul was set to announce nominations for this year's American Music Awards alongside Adam Lambert and Snoop Dogg on October 13 at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

LOL that's pretty witty, nice job.

Even if Paula owns the label it wouldnt' necessarily mean she'll run it. If she gets someone in there with some sense she may be able to help some of the AI artists that didn't win and got dropped.

Isn't Kara shopping a new show called dropped around for previous idol contestants as well? Must be something in the water with those two.

I have it on pretty good authority that Paula has convinced Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice & Ruben Studdard to get together to form a new group called Birmingham Boys. Their first release on Paula's new label is going to be called So Much Promise Unfulfilled & it is to include the hit single Paula Who?
