Ryan Seacrest Could Get Megadeal, Expand Role

While the rest of the world seems to be getting poorer and poorer by the day, stars like Ryan Seacrest are in negotiations to secure a “megadeal” when he signs his contract extension with 19 Entertainment.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that he will get a raise from his $5 million pay check he got last season (it’s about $100,000 per episode).

I think that Ryan does a great job on Idol so this news doesn’t bother me *too* much. I think it’s hard to keep a live show running smoothly and he’s a really big part of that.

Seacrest, who has produced unscripted shows like Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated and the now-cancelled, Momma’s Boys, is also supposedly in talks to expand his role within 19 Entertainment and could create a series with Idol creator, Simon Fuller.

The people on American Idol are incredibly over-paid. Ryan, maybe because its hard to keep a show STILL interesting after 8 seasons, and he manages to do it, and Simon, yeah hes entertaining, but he sits there and bashes people....and gets paid millions of dollars to do it. Its stupid.

Ryan Seacrest is Fox’s 45-Million-Dollar Man.

The “American Idol” host has closed a major new three-year deal with CKX, parent of “Idol” producer 19 Entertainment, worth $15 million per year.

Under the pact, which is believed to be the richest ever for a reality host, Seacrest will be exclusive to CKX in broadcast TV primetime to host “Idol” or any CKX-produced show that might succeed it.

The pact, which had been in the works for the past several weeks, gives Seacrest a gigantic pay raise, more than trippling his previous salary of slightly less than $5 million per season.

“Idol” producers 19, FremantleMedia North America and Fox all declined to comment on Seacrest’s new deal, as did his attorneys at Hansen Jacobson. The pact is expected to be announced Monday.

The three-year deal gives CKX exclusivity on Seacrest’s on-camera services for broadcast TV. Seacrest has a separate cable deal with Comcast and is E! Entertainment’s lead anchor. He also produces such shows as E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and ABC’s upcoming Jamie Oliver reality series.


This is from MJ's and it is the deal that Ryan signed. The most interesting part of this deal is that he will be the host of AI or any show that might succeed it, which leads me to believe that Simon will sign his rumored deal soon & he will get his wish and bring the X-Factor to the US when AI runs its course.

I don't think that AI and X factor are interchangeable since one is Simon Fuller baby and the other is Simon Cowell. Seems like the deal is w/ Simon Fuller so he is probably looking for his own show to follow AI. Fuller has already sued Cowell once over the x-factor.

The X- Factor will take over AI's spot at some point in time, it is what Cowell wants and Fuller knows that AI will not draw the same without Cowell, so he is going to give him what he wants and that is to bring the X - Factor to the states, its not like it is a secret that is what Cowell wants.

Cowell can walk from AI after next year and take X - Factor to another network, Fuller knows that and that is why he will make sure Cowell gets what he wants.

They are both ALL about making the $$$ and their past doings haven't had an effect on AI and it will not have an effect in the future when the X - Factor will take over for AI.

Fuller needs Cowell to keep the AI money train rolling, Cowell doesn't need Fuller to make a deal with another network to air X - Factor.
