Carrie should be part of Frozen 2 too. She should be writing more for movies since she got a Globe nom her first try.

A little bummed Carrie was not part of the list for September's IHeartRadio Festuval. It's been a long time since she did it. I was hoping we might get a new single there but that's not happening. Hmmm. It's just so dang quiet. I wish we would at least hear news about Mike's new contract or retirement- either way. I guess I am getting antsy.

^Remember, Billy Dukes predicted new music by summer's end and album by CMA time. He also felt Sony might package some of the music that didn't make album cuts and release. I think we should swamp Sony with requests for ST DVD so they know the demand is out there.

Wouldn't a part in something like that be perfect for Carrie?? Universal could open new doors for her in this capacity, for sure. I hope that she's secured something as part of the new deal. This would help her career internationally, too.
I don't really care to see Carrie act, but I'm all for her being part of more movie soundtracks. It's been a long time since her last one (There's a Place for Us in 2010) and she's only done 2 to begin with. Hoping they bring her back for Enchanted 2.

I think most artist don't like material released by their old labels. It often affects their rollout of new material for their new label.

^They probably don't and I'm not very knowledgeable about other artists so don't know if it has happened. However, the label owns the recordings so can do what they wish. I don't care about the music, but surely wish they would release the ST DVD.

I remember Tim McGraw got really upset when Curb kept releasing stuff after he was gone.

Yeah, Curb milked him for all they had, I felt bad for him for sure.

It really is unfortunate, and sucky as hell, that it looks like we are not getting the DVD of the Tour. What a wasted opportunity.

To be honest it is probably one of the first times I am a little pissed off in her career. As someone from another country who cannot afford to go to America to see her huge tour there, I have been looking forward to the DVD so badly especially considering it was the whole 360 degrees tour. Of course, luckily I was able to see her tour here with Keith Urban, but tour DVD's really make an experience able to be enjoyed time and time again...

Hate to say it, I don't believe Sony would do anything to annoy Carrie by releasing her unreleased music that she may have not wanted released, but I kind of hope Sony releases the DVD anyway.

but mostly they didn't.He sued because they kept releasing greatest hits while he was still with them in an effort to keep him with them. This explains the situation - Remember When Curb Records Sued Tim McGraw?

I think Sony respects Carrie and they parted amicably.Probably with some sort of agreement about releasing unrecorded songs.

Me too. I hope SONY releases the DVD anyway. That should not upset Carrie as it is for the Fans, and she paid Good money to have it filmed.

Those poor video producers must be SOOO disappointed. They were so excited!

It is still so excruciatingly quiet. I don't get why we have not even heard about Mike yet.

I think I'm just going to convince myself for now that she is preparing a surprise single or album release and they are not registering anything to keep the lid on how close her music away is. That is what I have to do to tide myself over. Must admit I love Carrie and the quality in her music, it is what makes her my No. 1, but far out 2 years between makes me so sad...

Well, it doesn't look like she has anything planned for September or October (except for that one event), so they might have blocked out time in August to do some writing/film a music video. (Smoke Break video was filmed Aug 4, 2015).

But again, we had cowrites (many of them) before SB came out. We shouldn't get bogged down on the fact that she released a song in August, so we have time. Unless they keep everything unbelievably quiet this time, it doesn't appear that we are anywhere near the same timeline as 2015. They may have blocked this time out to write, but I doubt it is to prepare a single and music video.

Our discussions are necessarily affected by the fact that we have very little evidence as to what Carrie really had in mind in changing label groups. The idea of a roughly two-three year album cycle, and a relatively quick advance single rather suggests that her approach will be (very broadly, to simplify) "more of the same". That is still possible. However, it's also possible that she wants the change in label group to herald a fairly substantial shift in her overall approach (perhaps to coincide with more international exposure). That may require considerably longer planning - and possibly a longer gestation for the expected next album venture.

^ really hope not. I cannot take these long dead periods. It is absolute torture for the fans.

The DVD would have kept us going for awhile. But that is not looking good. So we have nothing concrete to look forward to right now, which sucks.

But I'd rather her take her time and kill with the lead single and video than rush it

I agree, pretty little mustang.Like I've said on here before,my family is full of creative types & if you even rush or stifle anyone's creativity in my family, you will be called out for it.If creativity is stifled or rushed, the idea may never come out or you will completely forget about it before it has a chance to gel.If Carrie would rush this new era & her creativity, the songs won't sound right, the music won't sound right & none of the songs will make any sense to her or to us.If she takes her time with this new album, the music will sound better, her voice will be clearer & louder, the writing & lyrics will make much more sense than if they were rushed or forced. The waiting period for this album may be excruciating for all of us,but if she wants to make the most amazing album she has recorded, than this whole waiting process will be worth it once song titles & cowrites come through!!Patience is a virtue & unfortunately,we will all have to be patient throughout this whole songwriting & recording process to hear what she has created for the whole world & us to hear!!If we want her to kill the lead single & video, then we will have to be patient for the end result, whenever that might be.This whole writing & songwriting process takes time & it's not an overnight process like most people think it is,so we will just have to wait,no matter how boring or tedious it might get!!
