Wow, this is the first political thread I can sink my teeth into.
In resonse and turn to the question of what do you think of Bush's visit to Israel (I believe our President should get the credit because at least he tried) I believe that it matters not whether the right president came to Israel or not because no matter what, the Arab Nations WILL NOT GIVE UP ISRAEL. No matter how much aid, trade, and pressure we apply to them. Now here's an eye opener for you all:
"First we will go on Saturday, then on Sunday!"
Innocent little chant, yes? NO! What it really means is:
"We will Fight the Saturday People, and then we Will Fight the Sunday people!"
Hitler wrote a second sequal to his book of Mein Kamp (my Struggle) and in it, he conspires to conquer the whole world because it is important for the survival of the Aryan race, and the Jewish People is the first target until the one FINAL target - AMERICA (1)!
Now, we have Radical Islamic Facism which, instead of citing survival as their global cause, it is the cause for Allah to enforce Suriah Islam (Islamic Law). This problem is bigger than you think! Our third most friendliet ally, Saudi Arabia to the most hostile nation sponcers schools of Sunni Wahabism which teaches such Extremism They are not alone in this; Iran has it's own mission, to bring back heaven on earth by a global conflict lead by the prophecied Messiah, just another Jihad. The goal is, that this world is for now, Dar al-Harb "House of War," until the world turns into Dar al-Islam "the house of Islam"
We are lucky that they do not possess sophisticated weaponary but they do have one weapon in their favor - the people exhiled. Terrorist are using the poverty and disenchantment of the muslim population in europe as a force to weaken the resolve of the European government and if they are not poor, it is already enough that they covertly feed extremism into as many mosque they can reach. Proof of this is in England where after Madrid train bombing, extremist post signs saying "Your Next! (2)" A decendant of Dutch painter was slain because he dared to criticise Islam, and finally there was a tremedous outrage from all over the muslim world threatening to Kill whoever drew Muhammad's face in the Danish news. There were local threats against whoever drew that cartoon (3).
The solution is not another peace treaty where a terrorist can simply launch a rocket and claim "We didn't do it!" Bare in mind that they use ambulances, to carry weapons, use civilians as human shield, use men and women as human bombs, and bomb civilians, even schools - don't believe me? Just ask our Sevicemen fighting and dying for us in Afghanistan and Iraq. The solution is WHAT SIDE DO WE PICK? Now obviously, we can't side with nations that sponcered terrorism now can we? The solution is to side with the one ally, the only democratic nation, who already experienced 9/11s a hundred fold simply because they are in the way - ISRAEL!
Prior to WWII, the Jews have been the first to be the recieving end of Nazi Facism; once they are out of the way, Europe and Russia paid the price. Now that we face Islamic Extremism, sponcered by Muslim nations who do not recognize Israel's right to exist, the Parallel is profound because they are again, the first to be the recieving end of an ever growing global threat.

I'm with you Dan...I believe that the only thing that is keeping back God's hand from the US is our relationship with Israel. It scares me to death to think of who will occupy the White House next. God help us all!!

Human nature is such that there will always be war. I don't know how things will be better for your country, but in time, with more news of Muslims treating women wrong, irrational protest calling for death, cruelty without limits, and truce breaking, the world will see that it has been wrong about your people all along or they will experience the same terror themselves.

You can support Israel without stereotyping Muslims in this way. I personally will not tolerate the degradation of any religion or peoples based on the actions of a few. You are certainly within your right to complain about governments and politicians and policies you do not believe in. It is not right, however, to degrade an entire religion.
