OH MY GOSH. i just got home and from the most amazing concert i've ever ever ever ever ever been to. it was my fifth carrie concert, my first and only one of her tour this summer, so i knew basically what to expect but i had no idea how much BETTER she had gotten from the last time i saw her (last october with brad paisley). so her set was (this isn't the exact order, but close enough):
We're Young and Beautiful
That's Where It Is
Wasted
Starts With Goodbye
Lessons Learned
I Remember You
Sweet Child O Mine
Before He Cheats
I'll Stand By You
Inside Your Heaven (Acoustic)
Don't Forget to Remember Me
So Small
Jesus Take the Wheel
Some Hearts
(then she left and came back with...)
A fleetwood mack cover that I can't remember the name of right now... i think it was go your own way or something like that?
Alone
and finally I ain't in Checotah anymore
So my camera wasn't doing too well from where I was, so my pictures aren't very good... my seats were really good though. We bought them a week in advance from a guy on ebay. we were in the grandstand seats in the fourth row of the 6th section so i could see pretty well (no one was alloewd to stand, which was REALLYYY good for my height, haha). anyway, my pictures kinda suck but i got TONS of videos. my dad taped the entire concert except before he cheats (omg, i am SO sorry about that guys, haha because he was switching dvd's)... i don't know how long it'll take before i can actually post those two videos though. and i also got videos on my camera, and i should have those up (along with my crappy pictures) tomorrow.
i'm watching the dvd my dad got out of the concert now, and GOOD GOD it's amazing. i can't wait til i can get it on my computer so i can show you all. it's AMAZING quality, and we got all of the songs except 2 i think.
sooo yeah here's my recap of everything (in compensation for not having good pictures, i'm going into wayyy detail haha)
so, carrie started off incredibly with young abd beautiful. the audience was SO pumped, with a good opening act and thousands of people in that audience.
that's where it is was ONE OF MY FAVORITES as usual. i really really really really love her vocals on that song.. they soar and she is just so incredible.
so then she transitioned right from twii into wasted... soooo great. she just keeps getting better and better.
starts with goodbye and lessons learned were absolutely fabulous, as usual. i was really really really impressed with her ability to hold those notes at the end of lessons learned... it was better than i ever could have imagined.
then there was the "rocked out" part. i think that came after lessons learned, although she may have done her acoustic bit before that...
anyway, it was all soo good! i remember you was AMAAAAAAZING!!! and sweet child of mine was SO NICE. she let her vocals just soar soar soar. ahhh it was so incredible.
funny tidbit - she ran off stage before the "where do we go now" part of the song and my dad said "she's changing her shirt!" and i was like "no she's taking her shoes off!" so when she came back she was wearing the same shirt and i was like I WAS RIGHT hahaha. and after that carrie was like "where are my shoes??" and then she went up to one of the guys and was like "did you wanna wear my shoes?" hahaha it was funny.
i'll stand by you, IYH (ahhhh sooo good) and dftrm were so amazing.
my mom cried during dftrm, which i thought was a cute thing to share
she said some really really adorable stuff tonight too! (i'm sorry this review is so spacey, i just got back from the concert and i'm like i wanna tell everything!!)
-she was wearing capris, a black shirt, and these adorable black hoop-earings (i'm watching the dvd right now haha) and these HUGE heels, and at the beginning of the concert she was like "i like these platforms, they make me feel tall!" and then she when the guy in her band had her shoes she was like "i don't think you'd want 6-inch steve maddens!"
-during the acoustic bit, she was like "in case you haven't noticed, i'm playing guitar - woohoo!"
-during IAICA, her band members all crowded around her and she was like "what are you doing???" haha it was soo funny.
-towards the end of the concert she went "can i get a WOOT WOOT?" and then the whole audience went WOOT WOOT and she was like "i can't believe i just said that... i always used to laugh when entertainers said that.. so thank you guys for responding!"
okay, i guess i should conclude this now, but this was by far the best carrie concert i've been to. i didn't have the 6th row seats i wanted originally, but i had an amaazing time anyway. carrie got the WHOLE audience to follow her through the wholee show and i loved every minute of it.
i have to add how i felt during the encore stuff. so during the fleetwood mac song, carrie whipped out the (electric, i believe?) guitar, and it was SO amazing.
by the end of the concert, i thought she wasn't going to do alone, so i was geting kind of upset. i didn't get to see carrie when she was on tour with the idols, so i'd never heard her do the song live before. when she started singing it i almost cried, i was so happy.
IAICA was sooo cute, and when her band members crowded around her it was so funny!!
pic link (i warned you, they're not the best. and for some reason, everytime i go to a carrie concert and take pics myself, i end up with a really big-haired person in front of me...):
