Just an update. The major upgrade is done, so I''ve turned the board back on, if things seem weird give them time to sort out. I'm also testing new features and removing some old ones.

I think you meant that Carrie has a great character, although, sometimes she is quite the character.
If she's getting kinda stale, as you put it, maybe you need to move on to one of those, "not so stale" types like Miranda. I personally hope that she never changes. The main reason that I like her so much is because of that down home, good girl image that she projects. The thing about it is that it isn't contrived. That's just who she is, and to me, she's perfect.
I know alot about pop culture and I think I represent the masses here when I said that. All you have to do is look at her sales and you will see she just isn't selling what she was with SH. Its because she has resorted to making cheesy videos and is far too conservative to keep people interested. I know I am considered a 'nay sayer' on this forum. But I am a genuine Carrie fan and I think I represent public opinion more than the 50 obsessed fans on this forum. Her sales are proof of this in themselves.

Your Mom is only trying to protect you no matter how it comes across to you. For those Mom's who take a hard stand on a topic like this, their child will naturally not agree. It's about being young.
Someday, you will be in the same position and come to realize that it is not an easy job. For some Mom's the theme of LN is a concern and no matter how hard you try, you are not going to make her see it in any different light if that is the way she feels. Your age will have a lot to do with it.
So, the best thing you can do, is talk to your Mom instead of getting into an argument. Show her that you value good things and show her why Carrie is a person to emulate because of her values and the way she leads her life. It might not work but it's a start to show that you can make a good decision about the type of person you look up to.
Remember, Mom's must deal in a world where there are types like Brittany that cause a big scare.
Being a mom myself, I say a BIG thank you to you for everything you wrote here!!
yeah i understand what everyone else is saying about moms not liking LN ... i just wish my mom would understand that its just a video ... oh well
i got a bunch of my friends to like LN too ... they liked BHC and that was the only song that they knew from carrie and now they like LN ... apparently thats gonna be our summer song im just hoping we dont actually drink too much and get married in vegas

He has also seen the video and makes funny growling noises (because he thinks shes hot, haha) so he likes the video and he likes Carrie. My mother hasn't seen it and if I show her the video, she may like it but also may just roll her eyes, lmao!!

Obviously, you know nothing about what you speak and you are not speaking for the masses unless you went out to the masses and personally asked them. SH was pop and CR is country and pop usually always sell better and so many other factors have affected everyone's sales. And you do not represent public opinion unless you have taken a public opinion poll and physically talked to all of the general public, which I know would be a complete fabrication on your part if you said you did. You like to try and convince people you are the voice of wisdom but with no real substance or knowledge to back it up. You have no idea what the public outside of this forum thinks so you need to admit that and stop acting like you do.

Fandago aren't you a christian and the same person who said you will be praying for him/her to some other poster on here in the past b/c they liked rap music or something like that? (Sorry couldn't remember all the details) or am I thinking of someone else?.......so why would you all of a sudden want Carrie to change it up and be sexy, provocative, and step out of the box just to fit mainstream?......makes no sense.......Carrie is going to be Carrie and people will either like her or not....people will either want to buy her album or not......but what is going to keep her true fans is for her to be true to herself and be that same down to earth gal that we knew from AI. I say let Carrie be Carrie if she sells less b/c of it, so be it......she will still be a superstar in my book and in alot of people's eyes.
The fact of the matter is CR is more country and country rock than SH while SH was more poppish. SH was able to sell very well b/c it was more popish and fitting w/ the mainstream audience, who is larger than the country audience and helped SH's sales increase to the 7 million it sold. Otherwise, it probably would have only sold about 3 million.
When Carrie starts selling less than other COUNTRY acts, then I will be worrying about her but so far the only country act selling more than her is TS and the Eagles I believe and that is only b/c TS turned her songs pop and was specifically targeting the pop audience not to mention her album has been out forever. Eagles are ahead of her b/c they had a two disk cd album and so were able to double the certification that way. Otherwise it's pretty much Carrie leading the pack I believe. So as long as Carrie keeps on that track she is ahead of the game in my opinion.

My sister said the video was "okay," but she likes Carrie so I didn't really flip on her. My mom just said "Oh it's the girl you like. That's the only reason why you watch this show (GAC's More Country Music Videos)...my mom knows me so well..
