Just an update. The major upgrade is done, so I''ve turned the board back on, if things seem weird give them time to sort out. I'm also testing new features and removing some old ones.
Hey Taylor Swift Fans. We're launching a new forum just for you guys so drop what you're doing and get over there. Be one of the first to register and start posting TODAY. http://www.swiftfans.com. Have fun!!
so I am not allowed to have an opinion just because you dont agree with me? honey that aint how a forum works.
I have criticisms of EVERY artist I like. Every act has their faults. Carrie really came out as one of the hottest artists in the business with her first album. I saw her on her way to becoming a worldwide megastar. But she has stalled in her attempt by releasing songs like AAG and this video which will only appeal to small town values America. And about the morals... I dont get it. We should not look to celebrities to set moral values. That is a crazy notion. Hell how do you know that people living in trailers in Alabama aren't Carrie fans? They could very well be.
Thank you for your post and for being here!!!
I agree with you on this: a forum is to express your opinion.
I also agree with you about having criticsm of artists you like. This site has moved gradually over the last year/months to a very one-dimensional forum in which it is hard to express criticism on things you don't really like about Carrie, or things that you would have liked to happen differently in Carrie's career. (Not to speak about the very negative things being said about other artists that sell more or negative reviews of Carrie's concerts or whatever...)
This is the reason that I quitted posting regularly. I can't stand that kind of conservatism. So thank you for having your opinion, makes the forum more interesting.
However, I don't agree with you on your statement about celebs and morals. There are tons of celebrities that do not show any morals. But celebs are just human and human IS trying to live up to your morals. So just as every person hopefully cares about morals, celebs should do too. OK, question remains whether acting drunk in a video commercial is going too far, but I know according to the morals I try to live up to, it is.
I LOVE THAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and i love the fact that they put a part of BHC in it... ((6 months before he cheated))
lol
awesomeee

Yes, but lets say I am sitting at home watching tv with my daughter and Carrie comes on with her new video. Who am I to judge Carrie? I should not judge people on tv. Carrie can do whatever she likes, I would prefer to see her make the videos she wants to make anyday over making safe ones that won't offend people.

And yes, this board needs a reality check.
That should be your answer right there.....Carrie is free to make the kind of video SHE wants to make, and I believe she has every time!!! Including "Last Name".

Well ya know what...the video has been made and nothing you say or do is going to change that...so why keep harping on the fact you don't like it that she didn't portray someone that was drunk? Is it going to change the video? No.
well thats too bad cos she will seriously limit her fanbase if she keeps releasing boring videos like this one.
maybe her goal for her career is different from what you have envisioned for her. you seem to want her to expand her fanbase and go global. nothing wrong at all.
however, i really dont think shes out to sell as many albums as she can, or become as famous all over the world as she can be. the sound of Carnival Ride is the clearest indication that these are not her goals. based on what she says in interviews, i think she wants to have a career that shes proud of, and one where she can look back and smile, knowing she stayed true to her values. maybe her values will prevent her from expanding her fanbase, but that is her choice to make. if you feel frustrated, then i think you may continue to feel so
anyway, this is a video of a 'no sense' song. theres really no sense in it. its just silly fun, and so is the video. i did not expect to see so much discussion about it. and if you want to pick apart every music video for every little detail, you could do that for every single video.
you've expressed how shes potentially inhibiting her growth with such a video. point taken. i dont really agree with you but i can see where you are coming from. we all know where you stand already. but to keep saying the same point over and over is bit too much. those who disagree with you are not going to change their opinion just because you stated it a few more times than everyone else did. i know youre not going to change yours even after reading so many who disagree.
i think its time for everyone to move on. the video is out and lets see how things shape out. i just spent the past 30 minutes reading the posts in this thread and all i see is people going back and forth restating their opinions. there is no new insight in the last few pages ive gone over

Thanks Jeff. Not sure why there is still so much discussion on a mute point - way past mute point.
Brittany is right, go vote all. I will do a voting thread for LN. You can get to the voting page on CMT via the AAG voting thread for right now under the VOTING category on the main page. I think the majority have proven they like the video or at the very least accept it as is so lets spend our time voting for it and streaming it.
