Well, I just got back from a looong weekend of music and fun at Stagecoach. The festival was amazing, with one great act after another. I will post some thoughts and pictures on the other shows I saw a little later. I do have to say this though, Dierks Bentely was my favorite part of the weekend (except for Carrie of course). Dierks puts on a great show, full of energy and great music. This was my first time seeing him live and he won me over completely. I know Carrie's days of sharing the bill with another high profile artist are probably over, but a Carrie and Dierks tour would be Awesome!!!
As usual
Carrie looked and sounded wonderful tonight. Carrie only had an hour on stage, so the show was a little different than her Carnival Ride concerts. She wasn't very talkative tonight, again I think this was probably because of the time constraints. Also because of the short time on stage, some songs had to be cut from the set. Unfortunately she cut out "TMBIM", which really suprised me, because it is always such a crowd favorite. There were no costume changes tonight, but Carrie still took breaks after the usual songs, while the band played. It was strange to see her leave the stage and then come back with the same outfit on. Speaking of the outfit, I am sure you have all seen the pictures posted in some other threads, and all I can say is that
YES her shorts were that
SHORT and
YES, her boots looked like they were going to go all the way up to the shorts. Carrie definitely knows how to show off her amazing legs, she looked beautiful.... It was pretty windy during the show, so Carrie's hair had a windswept look the entire night.
Because of the different setup, some of Carrie's usual staging was different. It was weird to see Carrie moving around as she sang "JAD", I am so used to seeing her go out on the catwalk and sing it all from one position. I think if Arista were to use the crowds reaction to Carrie's performances tonight, than the 4th single would have to be "IKYW" Everyone in my section just went nuts as she sang... I am pretty sure that "JAD" will probably be released instead (its a little more radio friendly), but if Carrie and her team gave "IKYW" a shot, I think it could be a huge hit!!!! The other highlights of the night for me were "AAG" and "Paradise City" I got a little video of "PC", but I was caught off guard, because it wasn't done as a encore, she left for just a second and then came out singing.
The great thing about shows like this one, is that it is a great opportunity for Carrie to win over some new fans.
Well, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!! I heard so many wonderful comments about Carrie's performance from the folks in my section. Many were not fans before, but they are now. There was this one guy, who sat behind me the entire weekend. He pretty much complained to his girlfriend the entire time. He literally hated every performance of the weekend. He was particularly brutal to Taylor Swift, who he kept calling Hannah Montana. I thought Taylor's show was pretty good, I just think that her voice is better suited for smaller venues. At some points in her show, seemed like she was screaming, rather than singing. Well after Carrie's performance, this guy had nothing but good things to say about Carrie.
