Ed was the very best at playing the "sidekick". He & Johnny were great together and as Chuck mentioned he was there with Jerry Lewis for the MDA telethon every year.
A true icon.
RIP Ed.
Wow just heard about this a few minutes ago. He was 86 and was hospitalized for pnemonia and bone cancer!
My biggest memory of Ed is when he introduced Johny Carson on the Tonight show by saying "heresssssssss Jonhyyyyyy"
And also by being Jerry Lewis's sidekick on the MDA telethon!
A true American Icon has gone to a better place RIP Ed!!!!!!!

I know i was blown away when i read that this am on the net just happy i got to meet the guy and have my photo taken with him by some punk ass security guard that let his job go to his head it was funny he tried to block me several times and discourage me but i'm a go getter so he turned for a split second and i was excuse me Ed can i get a autograph and a picture of you security turned around but it was too late ed said to me i cant sign due to publishers clearing house sweepstakes but here give your camera to this security guard and he'll take out picture together i was all smiles looking at the jerk off guard with evil eyes like ERH...how you like me now...lol...i was actually surprised the security guard didn't cut our heads off in the picture just to be a jerk but he was too numb to think like that or the situation made him realise who he was...lol...;o)
