Thread: Carrie Underwood in Halifax NS 10-12-08!!!

BEFORE THE CONCERT!
We stopped in Bridgewater so we could go to Walmart and see if they had window writers so we could decorate the Van windows. They didn't but we found a substitute haha, and it worked ok for us.

We get into the city, and the first thing we do is go out for Pizza. We hadn't really eaten lunch so by the time we got there, and found out where the stinkin place was, haha we were starved!!!

After we ate, we made our way to the metro centre. We pulled in and all we saw was Little Big Town's tour busses, haha we got a little excited. We went to the parking garage and parked. I had presents for Carrie. Ace and Jamie in the back, but I didn't want to Carrie them around because I didn't have a meeet and greet so I figured I would wait until after the show and find someone to give them to.

We got up to the entrance of the parking gate and I decided I really should at least take a carebear to throw up on stage to her in case I didn't get my gift to her. So I ran back to the van and grabbed the carebear out of the giftbag, and also grabbed a copy of "The CArrie Poem"


So we are walking up past the tour busses and took some pictures! haha so as we were walking up toward the centre, I see Natasha.


(She just joined the Fanclub and I had been talking to her a few days prior to the show. she had mentioned that it was her daughters birthday the day of the concert and that it would be cool if she got to meet her, so I e-mailed and told her to find Matt and where to find him and everything, and possibly her daughter could go up and sing AAG with Carrie)

Anyways back to my story, haha we saw Natasha and her daughter Ava, she was too adorable, and shy haha. we kept looking everywhere for Matt, we saw more busses and trucks and what not. so we kinda hung around there, I was just waiting for him to come out of one of them.

We could hear Little Big Town's soundcheck, it was amazable! haha, so when we were down listening to the Sound Check, who comes walking down the street other than Mr. Matt!

Natasha talks to Matt and Matt gets right now and talks to Eva. It was probably the most adorable thing I have ever seen! ha my mom actaully started crying because she thought it was so adorable. Matt asked Ava is she would like to sing with Carrie, and he reached into his back pocket and pulled out 2 tickets for front fow seats! Natasha I thought you were going to bawl your eyes out! haha



After Matt was done talking to them, I went over and told him that I had a gift for Carrie and I handed him the Carrie poem. I told him he had probably read some parts of it before but he didn't recal it. haha I also told him that there were some verses in there about him, haha i think he got a little scared. I told him that I had left the gifts back in the van. So he said we could go get them and he was going to go around, and be a tourist and take some picture up on the hill. So we went to get the presents. They were kind of heavy! haha



So we go back and wait for Matt, and sure enough he came back. We were only waiting for about a minute or so. So I gave him the gifts for everyone and I asked to get a pic doene with him, and he said I could, haha


After that we decide to go get in line. there still were not very many people there yet. So we waited in line for 45 minutes before the doors opened. We had a scare about 10 minutes before the show!

Joanne asked me to hold up my ticket and she would take a picture. Well I look into my purse, and I see no ticket! I knew it had to be there because I had just put it in there. I almost had a heart attack and cried because I mean you alll know how much this concert ment to me! haha so here we are in line, and dumping out my whole purse on the sidewalk to find this ticket. WE FOUND IT! it was stuck inside a piece of paper that had CArrie's song list on it.

We get in and the merchindise table was so full so I went toeh washroom and hoped in line to get a shirt and whatnot. I see Jenny and she let me but her in line.

We went and got in our seats, my heart was pounding right out of my body! i could not believe that I was in the same building as Carrie! like OMG!!!!! I was wayy too excited!!



LITTLE BIG TOWN

Little Big Town was AMAZING! I got a soem videos of them. Our seats were literally the seats at the end of the catwalk, but we were in teh section to the left. So really the only good pics/videos we could get, were when they would come to teh end of the catwalk.

I had made a sign, Thanks to Red, that said " Jimi, Dump Karen, Marrry Me." When they came down the catwalk, Kim was on the side close to me. She looked over, smiled and then pointed at my sign! haha and then you could hear this little chuckle in her voice! haha I think she was fond of it.





but ya, I really rally wnjoyed Little Big Town! they were amazing!!

CARRIE MARIE UNDERWOOD TIME!!!!!

Ok, so intermission was KILLER! You don't know what it's like to wait that long, I mean MAN!! I have waited forever to see her, so you would think that intermission waiting time seemed short, well it wasn't! it seemed like a longer wait than all those years I had waited!

Finalyl her countdown came on! the crowd was screaming so loud, ha as was I, I had to be the loudest! and then it dropped! to 1 sec. I FREAKED!!!!!!! Holy Lanta! that was the most amazing moment! and then everyone stood up.

The bad thing about beign just over 5 feet tall, is you cannot see a whing while sitting on floor seats, I wanted to bad just to stand up on the seats! haha

So she does Flat on the Floor, Some Hearts, Wasted, you all know the order haha

and Next was All American Girl! Ava was tooo precious! Carrie said that she just wanted to talk to her forever! haha She really was too cute! I got it on video so I will post it ! haha but you just need to see it! i just missed the part at the end I had turned off my camera, but Ava said somehting like "Did you read my shirt" or somethign like that, it was tooo cute! haha

The rest of the concert went on. I knew all the little tricks and stuff, like the Inside you heaven and the whole being lifted off the gound thing, and then the dress surprise in I ain't in Checotah anymore, so Iw ould keep telling Joanne, " Get your camera ready, theres a good part coming! haha"

Now during IAICA.. she well haha it was funny, we all know how when she sings " o there's nothing like Oklahoma... only she subs int eh name of the place she is that night, haha well she attempted to do that in Halifax , only this is what we all heard...

" o there's nothing like...(long pause) ( music stops)..(carrie laughes).. O CRAP!..9carrie laughs more, joined with laughs of the audience)

ok Jesus Take The Wheel. Gordie Sampson is one of our own and wrote that song , so when the music started the crowd went wild. Let me tell you, it was the most beautiful song of the night. My eyes were fullll of tears. It sounded so much more pure and wholesome to hear her sign that in person, and the chorus!! O LANTA!!! When she sang the chorus and the audience sang along, it was almost like a heavenly choir! It was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my whole entire life!

I dont know if she forgot where she was or what... haha my guess was she was going to say " O there's nothing like Halifax.." only Halifax didn't fit when she went to say it, so then she was going to say " o there's nothing like Nova Scotia, but it was already to late by the time she thought of that, haha

haha another moment was when she was talking about the first time she heard Just a Dream, she told us she was a clean freak and when she heard Just a Dream play she had to put the toilet brush down and go listen to that song again, haha She did a wonderful job with it as always.

Then The end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok this was the most amazing part of my night! So I did not get the opportunity to meet CArrie, but WOW, haha this is good, we had a connection going on there, and I only wish I had had it on video but o well I will tell you abotu it!

ha it was during either Paradise City she came to the end of the catwalk, and I had pushed through my row so I could be closer.

I had made a poster that said " Will you cluck For Me" (because we know back in those Idol days , she will never escape the fact that she can cluck) and I had a box that said Yes with a check mark in it. I gave her No No option! haha well While she was at the end of the catwalk she saw that sign and let me tell you....





The biggest grin came across Carrie's face and she kept shaking her head no, it was probably the funniest moment! haha I LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok so for BHC, man, haha I was standing right beside the confetti blower! Talk about a mess in your hair! haha BHC was just simply amaing! Her vocals never cease to amaze me like man!!!

So to make this long review short... It was THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE! I had waited for song long for Carrie to come here and I can't believe my dreams finally came true... like my MSN name says

" Before October 12th 2008, Seeign Carrie used to be JUST A DREAM, but on October 12th, 2008, It became my CRAZY DREAM!!!"

I def. did some crying because I could not believe that I was actually there, and the Montage of Carrie and her awards and accomplishments, I def. broke down during that, becasue she has come a long way since Idol!

so Carrie Thank you TAnk You Thank You for making a trip to the Maritimes!!!! It was AMAZING and the best show EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
