Thread: Complete Carrie Chatter Transcript from Idaho (5-25-08)

Let me start by saying that I take absolutely no credit for this!

This is from a friend of mine who went to the Idaho show on Sunday. She's a reporter/copy editor for a newspaper on the west coast. She was able to capture (almost) every word that Carrie spoke at the concert on Sunday!

She's not a member of CFs/OFC. Yes, she should be . But she's not into discussion forums in this format. But she is a huge fan of Carrie. (This proves that you don't have to actively participate in forums to be a big fan of Carrie).

As promised, here's the transcript from Sunday night's show. There are
some parts that I couldn't make out what she was saying, so I typed "..."
there. It was usually just a few words or a sentence, so not a lot was lost.

Carrie says: Well, hello there.

Carrie says: Welcome, welcome. Very nice. Thank you so much. I'm so
glad to be
back here in Idaho tonight. We're all feeling good, and we want you
guys to
have a great night tonight. So, sing along, dance along, clap your
hands, stomp
your feet. Have a good time tonight, everybody. All right!

Carrie says: So, uh, you guys are a good-looking crowd. ... You know
how to grow
'em up here in Idaho. I do have a question for the girls, though. How
are the
guys here in Idaho? (lots of cheers) All right! A lot of time, I'd say
like 90
percent of the time, I ask that question, I get booed. Well, I don't
get booed,
I guess the guys do. So, guys, I guess you're doing all right. Well, I
have the
perfect guy. Actually, he's been in my life for about a year and a
half, and
I'm just the luckiest person in the world. His name is Ace, and he's my
rat
terrier, my dog. ... He's the perfect man. The longest relationship
I've ever
had, of course.

Carrie says: That song is so true, in my life especially. I don't know
if you
guys know this or not, but today is a very, very important special day
for me.
One that I'll celebrate each year probably for the rest of my life. For
those
of you who don't know, today was the day three years ago was the day of
my
"American Idol" finale. It's really hard to believe that so much has
happened
in those three years. It feels like yesterday. ... It feels like it
didn't
actually happen. So, I've had a lot of great things happen from awards
shows
... to videos to the Grand Ole Opry to being on tour with all these hot
guys. I
don't know how many of you guys were here the last time we were here.
Things
have changed even since then, it was what a year and a half ago or
something
like that. A lot has happened since then. I'm a very, very lucky
person, so
blessed. So lucky. ... Thank you!

I remember when I was much younger, I remember I looked up to a lot of
people.
But there's one voice. You know, everybody has certain people they'll
always
love their entire lives and they remember them from when they were a
child. One
of those people for me is Randy Travis. He was nice enough to let me
sing his
song ... on my latest album. I just thank him to death for that. We
made sure
to ask permission, and he was nice enough to let us do it. I know I
could never
do it even one-tenth as good as he does it, but I'll try.

Carrie says: We put together a little something special from my first
album,
"Some Hearts." It's one of my favorites. ...

Carrie says: I like to throw out a little disclaimer on that song. Now,
kids,
you have to not do what it says in that song. Your parents would hate
me
forever. We can't have that.

So, we've had a lot of fun so far being out on the road this year ...
we've been
out since the very beginning of January, but we love what we do, we
really do.
We goof around, and we fight sometimes. But I win all the time. These
guys are
weenies. I can say whatever I want because I have the microphone. ... I
go off
on tangents sometimes, I say a lot of weird things on stage. It's hard.
It's
hard to say the right things. I want you guys to think I'm cool. But I
think I
blow that within like the first five minutes of being on stage. (one of
the
band members says that he thinks she's cool)

Awww...(some band member whose name I can't understand) thinks I'm cool
because
I'm his boss. You just got a raise, buddy.

Back to being on the road, we love each other, we love what we do, we
are the
luckiest people in the world, but we all have family waiting patiently
for us
back home, and it's really, really important to have that support
system ...
back home from people like ... children, brothers, sisters, mothers ...
This
next song, I love playing every single night because it makes me think
of all
the people in my life that are waiting for me that are so important,
like my
parents and my sisters, all the people in my life. This songs makes me
happy,
and I hope it makes you happy, too.

Carrie says: Usually my bangs go this way, but tonight, they're going
both ways,
so I don't really know what to do with them. It's freaking me out.

So, I'll tell you some things that you probably already noticed about
me. I like
shiny belts and tall boots, which is really clear. I'm not a
dresser-upper kind
of person. If I'm going to a nice event or something like that, I can
dress
nice, I can look nice, that's all good. My professors in college
actually used
to call me Pajama Girl because I literally would roll out of bed, throw
a
hoodie on and go to class. It's really sad. The transformation has been
massive
coming into what I'm in now. I can't do that on stage. I'd probably get
in
trouble. You guys probably wouldn't come. You'd be like, "Who's that
homeless
girl on stage right now?" It's all good.

Another thing, I generally can't dance, and I generally don't know what
my arms
and legs are doing when I'm singing. Sometimes, I'll open my eyes, and
my arms
are way out here, just doing something crazy, I don't know.

Also, I pat the microphone, like this, a lot, which I hate. I hate it.
I'll
watch awards shows and things like that back, and I'll count the number
of the
times I do this. For those of you who didn't notice, now you're going
to
notice. That's all you're gonna see the rest of the concert, and I'm
sorry.

Sometimes, I talk really fast, which I'm sure you just noticed just
now. I think
something like that, those are all the traits that an all-American girl
might
have.
