Sorry this is kind of late, but CF was not working for me yesterday for some reason and I JUST got my vids put up, be sure to check out my vids and pics thread, link is at the bottom
About 3 weeks before the Huntington show, I was talking to some friends online and told them that we should go to the show, seeing how it was only a 2.5 hour drive (believe me at 1AM in the morning it’s a LONG drive), so I started looking on e-bay for tickets. First Lyss and I were talking about it but her parents said no, so I asked CeCe if she wanted to go, she was seriously considering it, she wrote tons of reasons why she should go but to no avail, the rents never gave her an answer, so I thought I would try my friend Rachel. Rachel went with me to the Brad/Carrie show when they were in Columbus and had a blast. After getting her hours covered at work, she was totally in!! I told her she would have a blast, and that she did!!
Saturday comes around and at about 1:30 I head out to pick up Rachel, after a couple of stops we were on our way. My GPS (named Rhonda) took us through some back country roads, literally, we went waaay down south through Portsmouth and Chillicothe before even hitting the “Huntington, W. Va” sign…when we finally saw it, we were only about 6 miles from our destination.
Renee, Jen and Ed were already at Applebee’s waiting for us…Lynn and Rob arrived a bit later, so they were all, patiently, waiting for Rachel and I to arrive. Thanks for waiting guys, I am happy that you got some appetizers and had chance to chat, lol!! Once we get there we order food and talk about, who else, Carrie!! Lynn told us about the CMA fest since she was the only one who attended in our group, we also talked about movies, I told them that Rachel and I saw “The Happening” the night before (which I would NOT recommend anyone seeing), I told them it freaked me out because it took place primarily in PA, which is where everyone in the crew (except for me) is from, lol!!
OK on to the concert…we arrive at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena (what a mouthful, lol) and find our seats. Rachel and I were 3 and 4 seats from the catwalk, the couple who had the seats right next to it didn’t claim their seats until after JMC got off the stage.
Concert:
JMC was good, I got some really HOT shots of him, lol, but I am not a fan of his songs, except for “living our love song”.
My goal for this concert was to get good audio and lots of pictures and maybe some video, goal was of course accomplished, security didn’t seem to strict on the recording thing because a lot of people around me were recording. The security guy on our side pretty much just followed Carrie whenever she went up and down the catwalk, which of course was an important job, lol, there were a ton of screaming girls behind us that went nuts whenever she passed by!!
Countdown finally starts up and the arena goes nuts, Carrie rises from the stage and her eyes brightened because of the crowd (there were some empty seats on the floor, that is BAD, BUT the crowd was excellent). It was the usual set, so I am going to list highlights once again:
During TMBIM, she asked how the guys were in Huntington, she got mixed yes’s and no’s, lol, she said that the guys need to work on it. She said she saw a lot of beautiful ladies in the audience and that we deserve the best, of the best, of the best (HECK YEAH)!! I got the entire chatter on audio, so I won’t bore you….If you read Captain’s (Renee’s) review, she covered the chatter pretty much!!
During DFTRM, she talked about how she and Mark went on a jog this morning and that she saw “The Happening” the night before, she said that if someone screams she is gonna have to hurt someone, I said boo, because that movie was terrible, lol!! You will get everything in the audio, trust me you will love it!!
Before Twisted, Ed and Mark walked back to the stage and Carrie ran up behind Ed and hung onto his shoulders, it was funny!! I held my sign up in the beginning of that song and she saw me, smiled and pointed at the sign, you can hear in my audio me saying “SHE SAW ME!!” YAY!! That made my night!!
I forget what song, but a little girl who was in the front row of my section gave Carrie a Marshall jersey, that said Underwood on the back with the number 1. When she received it she held it up for everyone to see and people went nuts, it was awesome!! Carrie put it on the ledge and later on I noticed she went back there to put a sign on the ledge and she looked for the shirt, someone snuck it so she could wear it during her encore, which she did of course!! It looked real cute on her!!
When she was singing BHC, I had my camera already to go to get the “woot woot”, but she didn’t do it, and it’s ok, and the reason being, is that when she has done it before she was on the catwalk so she could do it to the person holding the sign (like she did in Toledo and Y-town), well she was on the stage and not near the catwalk, and I don’t think she would want to do it to the entire crowd, but it’s all good, the concert was incredible, she saw me and I know she recognized me because I saw her already 2 times that week, hehe!
Afterwards we met up where the buses were, there was a huge blocked off section, there were about 40 people out there waiting to see if Carrie would come out. Well she did, but on the other side, her bus was hidden and I guess she was closer to the other side. We knew she came out because we saw girls dart to where she was and we saw a bunch of camera flashes, so she didn’t come to our side. Jimmy did though and we said hi to him. I think someone asked him where he was going next and I chimed in and said “South Carolina” and he was like “that’s right” HAHA, I promise I’m not a stalker, I just study the tour list.
Carrie’s bus finally left and we went to our cars, but not before we got a bunch of pictures, we were in the parking garage for literally a good half hour, probably looking like crazies, but since it was a WV crew reunion, we had to get the group pics!!
Finally Rachel and I were on our way home, we stopped at Wal-mart and at a McD’s, it took us a good while to get home, I was so tired that I was singing out loud to try to keep awake, but it wasn’t working, so Rachel drove the rest of the way, thank goodness for her!! We got home at about 3:45A.M., and I did NOTHING yesterday because I was still recovering from an amazing week!!
For those of you who may be wondering, Rachel is a childhood friend, we have known each other since we were in preschool (awwwww
), our mothers are friends to, she is awesome and she had a blast at the concert!! She isn't on the FC or Carriefans, but she enjoys Carrie's music!!

Gotta say thank you to the crew...Renee, Jen, Ed, Lynn and Rob, SOO happy that we got to meet up in the state that started it all, lol, it was so good seeing you guys!!
Carrie, thank you for another amazing show, you are just amazing, I can't wait to see you in DE and Tom's River!!
Rachel- even though she isn't on the FC, I could never thank her enough for coming with me, I had a blast!!!!
