After my weeks long trip to Nashville to see the CMA Fest...I believe during Carrie's set there I decided to get tix to go to Huntington, WV...I NEEDED to see an entire Carrie show!
Got my tix through Ebay, persuaded Rob (aka Jr.) to go along, since the seats WERE along the catwalk! He finally caved in after Thursday and Saturday was all set.
The four hour drive down seemed to fly...we had a LOT to chat about

We met up with Jen (ticketmaster), Renee (captain), Ed (chauffeur), Perry (teckie) and Rachel (Perry's friend) at the Apple Bee's in Huntington, about 4 blocks or so from the Big Sandy Superstore Arena (LOL, I still laugh everytime I say that...who in their RIGHT mind would name an arena that...WAY to long of a name!!!).
After we were done with dinner we made our way down to the arena...parked right across the street and got in line. I noticed a lil girl in front of us who was SUPER excited. It ended up that she met Carrie at the busses right before she stood in line. It was SOOOOO cute!!! She was literally shaking from meeting Carrie...biggest smile in the WORLD...I loved it, Carrie is SOOO good to the kids and fans!
The show itself...simply amazing...I know I say it all the time, but Carrie just keeps getting better and better!!! Jason Michael Carroll was WAY to loud...but a good warm up for Carrie (although I think he just maybe a tad to FULL of himself!

...sorry for everyone who is a fan of his, but IMO that is true.
As for Carrie's set...the sound was back to normal, you don't have to turn up the sound THAT loud to make people happy! Carrie gets it, and gets EVERYONE going! Her stage presence has SO improved since her days from AI...she can WORK a crowd!!! When she sang JAD...she was literally 2 steps away from me on the catwalk...what an AMAZING time that was!
With her walking up and down the catwalk...I think I got a total of 3 hand slaps from her...during one of them she commented "I hope everyone washed their hands...I'm kidding...well maybe not"

LOL
Just an AMAZING night...and seeing the WV crew made it even more amazing! Being a fan of Carrie's has brought me some amazing friends!!!
The ride home was LONG...LOL, seemed like 8 hours (OK...I know for some it was

LOL)...but I had a few obstecles in my travels...FOG...that was the biggest problem...HOLY cow there was a lot of it! Then after it cleared a bit (there wasn't TO much traffic at 2:30am LOL) I was driving and lo and behold a deer was just grazing on the road...thought do I stop...do I keep driving...is the darn thing gonna turn around...thankfully kinda creeped past it and it stayed in the passing lane...for my final hurdle...about 1 hr. from home the skies let loose and I had to drive about 35 mph because of a HARD HARD rain...it was like a cloud burst...thankfully if I was sleepy...all that REALLY woke me up

LOL Plus I had a pretty good co-pilot
Had a blast...will do this again for B-day week in October!!! With Carrie and Little Big Town...what an AMAZING show that will be!!!
