Pre Concert:
After long and careful consideration, my Carrie Partner in Crime (Jen/Jed1014) and I decided to attend the WV show even though it was 8 hours away! Thanks to her loving and supportive husband, we took the 8 hour trek from PA to WV on early Saturday morning! The ride ended up being pretty fast with scattered showers, sun, more scattered showers, and more sun! LOL God couldn't decide what type of weather he wanted on Saturday in WV! LOL!
We arrived in Huntington "around 3 o'clock in the afternoon" (HAHA) and were immediately greeted by the band members (well not really but we saw them
) Actually, as we pulled into where we parked, we saw Jaime, Jonathon, and Shawn riding their bikes! It was funny because Shawn was riding with one wheel in the air! Pretty cool if you ask me! We also spotted Garrett and Jimmy hanging around the buses as well! This was definitely a major perk in getting to the center early!
After waiting for about an hour or so we met up with our "WV Crew" (Showheryoucare/Jr./Rob and Lynnh32/Joey/Lynn)! We wanted to celebrate where we all first met in Charleston,WV in Dec of 06 and go out to eat! So we ended up choosing Applebees, which was conveniently right down the street from the center! We also waited a little while longer and met up with (Perry/Teckie/Carrieluver83 and her friend Rachel, I believe was her name)! Dinner was great and the anticipation of seeing Carrie again was bursting through my veins lol!
While waiting to get into the center, we met a little girl (she had to be about 10 or so) who had just met Carrie outside near the buses! It was the cutest thing because she was shaking as she showed me the autograph and her picture! I just love seeing the affect that Carrie has on fans, especially on children! I was very happy for the little girl!
Concert:
We get into the arena, which is TEENY TINY and find our FABULOUS seats! We had 4th row middle of the isle! Thankfully, Carrie played our side a lot! Anyways, I was very excited to say the least! Jen and I are extremely lucky when it comes to concert seating! Don't ask how lol!
JMC came on and played it up to the ladies! He was okay! I didn't get to see him in Reading because I was too busy chatting with my friends and all, but I didn't miss anything really! While he was playing literally the first, second, third, and fourth rows were EMPTY! I was kind of shocked, but before Carrie started the crowds started to pour in! Lucky me got to sit next to a heavyset, drunk, younger guy who knew NO Carrie songs and was into her looks and beer! LOL. I'll get into that later though lol!
You could tell the crowd was going to be good and that they were! Carrie felt it as well! She came out with a bang with FOTF and continued with that energy throughout the entire show! She was very chatty and funny last night and had a lot of one liners! My absolute favorite was when she was walking down the catwalk to perform DFTRM she slapped everyones hands on the one side and then in the microphone said, "I hope everyone washed their hands" and then said,"I am kidding", and then literally two seconds later says, "Kinda" and she then giggled into the microphone! It was so funny!
Before singing DFTRM she had a long conversation with the crowd! It was awesome! Here's what I recall! She told the crowd that Mark and her took a jog around town early this morning and how none of the other band members believe in exercise! She said, "That's okay Mark and I will just live longer, no big deal"! LOL She told the crowd that they saw "The Happening" last night and asked if anyone seen it last night because in a cute voice "I was in the theater"! LOL She asked if anyone thought it was good and then said, "If you scream yes, I am going to have to hurt somebody!" She said, "Don't go see it!" Even though she said how she loved Mark Wahlberg and how its sad he gets killed, but he still looked good though! She mentioned at this point that the guys in the audience were like aw man! She said how she talks about weird things when she gets up there on the microphone and how its weird because before she really wouldn't say anything at all and now the band starts songs to get her to be quiet! She was talking about how cool it is to go from place to place and be on the road and how she has been out there since Jan 31st and how she really enjoys seeing the same faces in the crowd as she saw the night before (coughMEandJENcough) HAHA! We went to Reading before WV! LOL She was like we check you guys out is basically what I am saying! She said how she talks to her mom every night and she gives her all the gossip in good ole Checotah from people from middle school and high school etc!
After singing CD she mentioned how the song is so true because crazy things happen to just random people and how she was going to school in Talequah to be a journalist, which is ironic because she runs from them now! She said she wasn't a papparatzi person or photographer or anything like that but she did more behind the camera stuff, so now its random that shes in front of the camera! She talked about how her life is wonderful all because of the day she tried out for AI and then she liked did a little cute dance! She talked about being one of the luckiest people in the world and how she has gotten to do so many amazing things! She said "Good things keep happening and I don't know why but I like it!" and then she proceeded to talk about the Opry and how she was recently inducted and said they could have picked anyone in the world and they picked her and she did like a YES thing with her arm! It was really cute!
Before singing TMBIM she said it was nice to be back in WV and how she wasn't sure if the crowd knew where she was staying or not but it was kind of obvious with like it being a block away and empty tour buses in front of the hotel! LOL She was saying the the guys need to work on being great because there are a lot of cute girls in the audience and that we deserve the best of the best of the best! She said at least you guys don't have to read all about who you are dating in the supermarket and then she said AWKWARD! LOL in a really cute voice! She asked the guys if their lady friend, daughter, wife, or girlfriend brought them there to just smile for her because she can pick them out in the crowd and she said "You guys are the ones doing this"! And she folds her arms and looks disinterested! LOL She then says in the microphone "I cant believe I am at a Carrie Underwood concert"! LOL
Before singing AAG she talked about her first concert and how she built it up in her memory so huge that NOTHING can top it! LOL She says now she has them both on speed dial and its all good!
During LL Carrie actually spotted me out in the crowd (since we were so close) and her eyes lite up and she smiled, winked, and waved at me! I was so happy that she saw and recognized me! That alone made it all worth the day long trip (we drove back home immediately after the show)!
At the end of the show I SPRINTED towards the buses with my friends following after me and unfortunately Carrie did not come to our side of the parking lot where the buses where located! I believe she went to the opposite side because we saw people screaming and running towards her bus and then lots of flashes! We did, however, talk to Jimmy for a bit! He came out and signed and took pictures with the fans! He seems like a really great guy!
LOL! I hope I hit everything! It was a LONG trip home with little sleep and I figured I would write this ASAP since its all still in the brain so well!
All in all, another GREAT Carrie show! This was my 26th concert and she just keeps getting better and better vocally and with her stage presence! I am so glad to be a fan! It was so great seeing my friends and hanging out in another state! The people there seemed really nice!
