EXCLUSIVE COWELL GETS FINALISTS WHITENING TREATMENT

Simon Cowell has ordered X Factor finalists to have their teeth made gleamy white by laser treatment.

The talent show boss has become obsessed with the Hollywood smile since making it big in the US with American Idol.

He has spent thousands on caps for his teeth and whitening them to get rid of nicotine stains from his smoking habit.

And he regularly compliments auditioners and fellow TV stars on their gnashers.

Now Cowell, 48, and other show bosses have sent the 12 finalists to the Pearlys clinic in Primrose Hill, North London.

A team of cosmetic teeth aestheticians have used laser-whitening on the 12, who will be revealed on Sunday's show.

A show source said: "Simon wants the acts to look their best once the live stages start.

"He is convinced they will all look better with perfectly white teeth as part of the makeover. He used Pearlys for some of his acts last year like Same Difference, so this year all the acts are going in."

Former Xtra Factor presenter Fearne Cotton noticed Cowell's interest in dentistry. Earlier this year she said: "One of the first things Simon said to me was, 'You've got lovely teeth.' "He's got a teeth obsession. I've got massive front teeth and I think he's quite envious. His are hilariously white. They're blinding."

Cowell has even offered to fund fellow judge Louis Walsh's dental improvements. He said: "Louis was supposed to have new teeth. He does need them. I would actually pay for him to have them done. It's a big job.

"In fact I'll start with just one tooth this year.

Then we can keep going for the next 20 years."

Meanwhile bookies have made singer Laura White, 23, the hottest ever early favourite to win. William Hill make her just 3-1 to win the ITV series.

They said: "The buzz for Laura exceeds that of Leona Lewis at a similar stage. Simon said Laura is world class and punters agree."
