The Parents Television Council is calling on advertisers to boycott shows on the CW because of a scene in the opening segment of last week's premiere episode of 'Beverly Hills: 90210'.

The group is upset over a scene less than ten minutes into the new series in which lead actor Dustin Milligan appears to be receiving oral sex from a girl in his SUV.

In a statement, PTC president Tim Winter says, "The CW Network has openly, wantonly and eagerly violated every business tenet of the broadcast industry. They shocked viewers during the family hour by depicting high school children engaged in oral sex in their car. It's such a sucker punch to viewers and a lot of families. No one tuned in to 90210 thinking, 'Hey, maybe I will get to see oral sex.'"

The CW has responded by letting the PTC know that the controversial scene was screened for advertisers before the show aired, and no one took issue with what they saw.

Well, I love all the racy shows on the CW, GG, OTH, and 90210, lol, but then again I'm 28 and I was 18 when Dawson's Creek first aired, so I've never been a child watching these shows. If parents don't want their kids to watch, don't let them have televisions in their bedrooms or anywhere unsupervised. I have to be the bearer of bad news, but while it may not have been happening in school parking lots, I know lots of kids that knew more than enough about such subjects without having to learn about it on tv. My generation grew up on the Cosby Show, but that didn't mean they didn't know about everything that is getting shown on tv today. I'm not sure what the age-ratings are on most CW shows, but they are probably at least 14 and by that age, it really doesn't matter if they see it on a tv show. Yes, the shows nowadays glamorize sex, but teens have always been obsessed with sex, regardless of what is shown on tv now or 15 years ago.

i am in my 20's and i think what they did was beyond disgusting. TV, the media and people in general are losing their values and integrity. There is nothing wrong with having traditional christian values......in fact it seems like its looked down upon anymore. What a shame. Any scene that depicts oral sex is DISGUSTING AND IMMORAL. They should be shot.

I love when all these PC groups act like stuff that is seen on tv doesn't happen in real life. Tim Winter needs to live in the "real world" instead of his "PC one". Sorry, Timmy but in the real world this happens.

I understand people being upset over this, but if it bothers you (referring to people in general) don't watch it. If it bothers you to have your children watch this, don't let them watch it. It seems pretty simple to me.

What does the PTC expect from shows like 90210 or Gossip Girl for the teenage characters on the show to be sitting around playing board games and watching Disney movies? It is 2008 and not 1958.

Like it or not they are showing things that does go in the real world.

I think the point is that 7:00-8:00 (my time-central) is family hour and that should not be shown during that time. I have to say I was shocked to see that scene. You can be "real" without being vulgar.

Exactly. If younger kids were watching it then they probably didn't really know what was going on.
